Our Consultative Process





Charting a prudent course to financial independence requires a well-conceived, personalized plan with defined long-term goals. Our wealth advisory consultative process can help you design a cohesive plan for the future that includes:


1. Discovery


Before our first meeting, we suggest that you take a fresh inventory of your wealth, including where each asset is located and what it is worth. At that meeting, we will begin by exploring many questions to try to capture what matters most to you and fully understand what you want to accomplish with your wealth.


2. Analysis and recommendation


Based on our discussion, the team will analyze your personal and financial information, including liabilities, and assess risks and identify potential threats to your financial health. We will present you with a personalized plan that can help address your income and cash flow needs, borrowing requirements, asset preservation, retirement planning, wealth transfer, philanthropy and other areas beyond investment management.


3. Implementation


After you have approved your wealth plan, we will work closely with you to implement it, bringing an objective approach, and paying special attention to how the various parts of your plan can affect, enhance and integrate with each other.


4. Reviewing objectives

      Experience

      We are a wealth management team based in Jericho, NY.  Our team is comprised of seasoned and well respected investment professionals with over 60 years of combined experience.  William Burns spent 25 years with Merrill Lynch as an International Wealth Management Advisor. He also went through the Merrill Lynch Management Assessment and Training Program and spent significant time coaching, counseling and presenting at their Financial Advisory Training Program in Princeton, New Jersey. Theodore Grippo has over 25 years of experience helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2008, Ted spent 15 years as an International Wealth Advisor at Merrill Lynch.  Both William and Theodore recently received the Sports and Entertainment Director designation. Christopher Smith has spent 13 years in the financial field, first as a proprietary trader on Wall street for 6 years, and since then as an advisor at HSBC before joining Morgan Stanley. Chris designs and maintains comprehensive financial plans for clients of the team. Chris is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) which allows us to assist clients with the most complex financial challenges.

        William Burns is a Financial Advisor in the Jericho Office of Morgan Stanley.  He holds his Series 7, 8, 63, 65 and Life and Health Insurance Licenses.

        Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Bill spent 25 years with Merrill Lynch as an International Wealth Management Advisor.  He also went through the Merrill Lynch Management Assessment and Training Program and spent significant time coaching, counseling and presenting at their Financial Advisory Training Program in Princeton, New Jersey.

        Bill and his team work with a diverse client base that includes entertainers, professional athletes, business owners and other professionals.  The common thread is they are all looking to achieve their personal life goals, such as a comfortable retirement, sending their children to college or buying a second home.  His experience lies in proper asset allocation and asset management to help achieve these life goals.

        Bill graduated with honors from the State University of New York at Oswego where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in both Economics and Psychology.  He currently resides in Cold Spring Harbor with his wife Gail and sons, William and Nicholas.  He is very active in local sports league as a coach in baseball and basketball.  He is an avid golfer, and enjoys skiing, kayaking and travel.

        Theodore Grippo is First Vice President in the Jericho Office of Morgan Stanley.  He holds his Series 7, 63, 65 and is a NFLPA – Registered Financial Advisor.

        Ted has over 25 years of experience helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2008, Ted spent 15 years as an International Wealth Advisor at Merrill Lynch.  He has been a partner of the Burns Grippo Group at Morgan Stanley since 1993.  Ted attended Geneva College in Bear Falls, PA from 1981-1983.  He graduated from NYIT in 1987 where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration.

        Ted and his team have extensive experience working with High Net Worth families and business owners as well as professional athletes and entertainers.  He focuses in long term financial planning and professional portfolio management.  

        Ted lives in East Norwich, NY with his wife Heidi and their daughters Juliana and Kayley.  He is a sports enthusiast who enjoys playing baseball.

        Christopher Smith has been working in the financial field for over 10 years.  He is a registered Financial Advisor holding his series 7, 63 and 65 licenses as well as being licensed in Life and Health insurance at Morgan Stanley.

        After graduating from Baruch College with honors, with a degree in Finance & Investments, Christopher spent 5 years working as an equities trader on Wall Street.  Gaining invaluable experience trading stocks for his own account, Christopher then decided it was time for a new challenge; helping people achieve their goals, such as planning for college and retirement and helping investors increase their cash flow and lower their tax burdens.
         
        As a Vice President at HSBC Securities, Christopher developed financial plans for his clients around their goals, values and aspirations.  Christopher believes it is vital to take a team based approach, involving clients trusted advisors such as attorney's, CPA's, as well as insurance providers to help develop a financial plan.  Utilizing sophisticated financial planning software and asset allocation tools, and with the help of countless resources provided by Morgan Stanley, Christopher guides his clients through life's twists and turns, helping to keep them on course every step of the way.

        Christopher has been married to his wife Kerri, a school teacher, for 10 years.  They have two young children and live in Suffolk County on Long Island.  Christopher is a sports enthusiast who enjoys playing golf, baseball and basketball in his free time.

        Georgia has been a Client Service Associate for over 15 years.  She has her Series 7 and her Series 63 licenses.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, she worked at Merrill Lynch as a Senior Registered Client Service Associate.  Her role includes all levels of client service and administrative functions.  Her knowledge and expertise make her an integral part of our team, providing an unsurpassed level of service.

        She graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business.

        AnnMarie has been a Client Service Associate for over 10 years.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, she worked as a Client Service Associate for Wells Fargo.  Her role includes marketing and administrative functions.  AnnMarie's professionalism, knowledge, and hard work make her a valuable member of our team and enhance the level of service you will receive.
