About Sandra Wang
Sandra Wang, Senior Vice President, is a Senior Portfolio Management Director, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and Financial Advisor leveraging her multidisciplinary background in advising families through wealth accumulation and transfer. Her mission is to ensure the successful stewardship of clients’ wealth across life stages and generations.
In her work with clients, Sandra develops tailored retirement, philanthropic, estate and tax planning strategies, while helping clients navigate key life transitions including divorce, sudden wealth, special needs, or business succession planning. Sandra advises executives on strategies for employer stock concentration, implementing tax-efficient and opportunistic deconcentration over time, including establishment of 10b5-1 plans to allow insiders to divest in compliance with insider trading laws. Sandra works with families with special needs (an areas she holds close to heart in her own family life) to help them establish and manage Special Needs Trusts for their loved ones. Sandra also leverages strategic partnerships across the firm, including Family Office Resources, to help ultra-high net worth clients manage the complexities of their wealth and provide Next Gen wealth education to sustain the values which created the wealth.
Sandra has been featured in national media for her work with families to address their conflicts around money including The New York Times, MSN Money, Parents magazine, National Public Radio “The Takeaway” as well as the personal finance book “The 10 Commandments of Money.”
Sandra was named to Forbes Magazine’s Top Wealth Advisors Best-In-State rankings in 2024, 2023 and 2022, Forbes Magazine’s Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-In-State in 2025, 2024, 2023 and 2022, Forbes Magazine's Top Women Wealth Advisors in 2021 and 2020, as well as Working Mother Magazine’s Top Wealth Advisor Moms in 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018 and 2017 inaugural rankings. Sandra earned her International MBA from Instituto de Empresa in Spain as a Fulbright Scholar, graduating with honors, her Master’s degree in Psychology from JFK University and her Bachelor’s in English Literature from UC Berkeley as a Regents Scholar, Highest Honors. Sandra also worked in health care management in the beginning of her career as a clinical supervisor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Sandra is fluent in English, Mandarin and Spanish.
In addition, she has earned a number of industry and firm designations – including Chartered Financial Consultant®, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst®, Lending Specialist, Workplace Advisor - Equity Compensation, and Family Wealth Director, a designation achieved by a select group of advisors who possess a high caliber of education and experience in advising ultra-high net worth clients on wealth transfer, family governance, estate and philanthropic planning. Sandra serves on the Western Regional Financial Advisor Council representing Silicon Valley Markets.
In her spare time, Sandra has taught financial and retirement planning courses through Stanford University’s Continuing Studies Program for over a decade. She has backpacked to 55+ countries and enjoys adventures with her husband and 3 children. Sandra has earned two black belts (Traditional 1st Degree and Elevated) in taekwondo – and holds title as a 2-time World Champion in 2024 and 6-time State Champion in 2024, 2023, and 2022 with National Martial Arts Alliance (NMAA). Sandra shares her expertise as a volunteer Judge for martial arts tournaments across the country.
Sandra is passionate about giving back to the community, and her family volunteers as puppy raisers for Guide Dogs for the Blind, with the mission of training guide dogs to empower the visually impaired with greater independence. The family’s previous Guide Dog pups who have graduated from their household include a working Guide Dog in Philadelphia and a Breeder Dog creating a next generation of future Guide Dog puppies. Sandra serves on the board of Outlook Christian Church and is a founding board member of Friends of the Davidson Academy.
