About Matt Sizemore

Since the beginning of my career in wealth management I have believed there is power within the confines of a trusted relationship. I became a Financial Advisor to help people find deep purpose and joy as they manage wealth. Being deeply known and guided by a trusted counselor helps you become who you were meant to be. I have experienced this in my own life through many wonderful mentors.

I was born and raised in Richmond, VA and then went to Presbyterian College on a division I golf scholarship. While in college I made transformative friendships, learned how to overcome adversity, and most importantly met my wife, Natalie. After graduating in 2013 with a degree in Business Administration concentrating in Management and Economics, I was fortunate to pursue a lifelong dream of playing professional golf.

Having given my all to golf from age 12 to 22, I transitioned to a role with a thriving, family-owned e-commerce business. It was this job that ignited a passion for serving others through business and I eventually became a team leader in customer service. I wanted to take this one step further and help individuals and families with something vital to their livelihood and future, so I decided to join The Cadden Sizemore Group at Morgan Stanley.

In our process we never begin with numbers though these are important. Rather, we begin with who you are. After defining your personal values and core convictions about life, we then discuss what change you want to see in your life and the lives of others and break that down into smaller objectives to help make it happen.

Many of my clients are tired of the status-quo in Wealth Management. Though they want their investments to perform well, they know there's more to life than beating the S&P500 or becoming rich. They want to do more than retire, be on permanent vacation. and minimize the presence of all risk possible. Instead, they want to take meaningful risks with their wealth that are appropriate for their situation and targeted toward their neighbor's good.

A life with no risk is no life at all and the absence of vocation has never made anyone happy since the dawn of time. I believe we were created with a longing for purpose in our DNA, and I view money as just one way of seeing that purpose become tangible.

I am a CFP® Certified Financial Planner™ professional. The designation comes with extensive training in financial planning, estate planning strategies, insurance, investments, taxes, employee benefits and retirement planning, as well as in the CFP® Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, which are rigorously enforced. This certification gives me the knowledge to help clients understand how all elements of a financial plan work together to meet their goals.

Some of the customized solutions that come out of my planning process with clients are values-based investing, hedging strategies, alternative investments, income replacement for retirement or transitioning careers, charitable giving strategies, equity compensation analysis for executives, tax-efficient solutions for concentrated single stock positions, and Long-Term Care planning.

My family and I reside in the Richmond area. We enjoy all of the beauty (and food) this city has to offer!

Give me a call or send me an email if you would like to schedule an introductory conversation. I would be honored to learn more about you and what you want to accomplish!

3Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice.
