About Me

For over 34 years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with clients to help them reach their financial goals. I will strive to earn your trust by listening closely to your unique needs, learning about your situation, and tailoring investment solutions to help meet the challenges you face.

In recent years, I’ve made it a priority to expand my business to support my clients’ sense of social responsibility and charitable ambitions. My goal is to translate their good intentions into tailored investment strategies that align with their social values and philanthropic goals.

Throughout my career, I’ve completed extensive studies in investment analysis and financial planning. I earned my undergraduate degree with honors from Colgate University in 1982, followed by a master’s degree from Virginia Tech.

When I’m not helping clients, I enjoy hiking, biking, gardening, and birding. However, I most enjoy spending time with my wife of 36 years, Jo Anna; our adult sons, Ben and Sam; and our good friends.

I’ve learned that raising a family presents many joys, but it also creates many challenges and aspirations that depend on one’s finances. My personal experience combined with my professional training, the skill of our talented and dedicated team at The Alexandria Group at Morgan Stanley and the extensive resources of Morgan Stanley all serve as valuable assets for helping our clients navigate and meet their own challenges and goals.

About Eric V Goodson, CFP®

Since 2000, I have enjoyed professionally advising investors with a wide variety of needs and goals. I understand that the families and businesses with whom I work can sometimes face a variety of complex tax, estate planning, and financial issues. To best address these diverse situations, I take a holistic approach when creating your financial plan, addressing all of the relevant areas of personal finance, including retirement planning, investment management, tax planning strategies, wealth accumulation, cash flow generation, insurance, and estate planning strategies. I strive to serve as a reliable resource for clients’ financial questions and to instill confidence that the strategy put into place will help them to meet their life goals.

I am a graduate of The Georgetown University Center for Professional Development, where I earned an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning by successfully completing rigorous coursework in all aspects of financial planning. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) practitioner, I’m committed to abiding by a strict code of professional conduct, known as the CFP® Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility. As an undergraduate, I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech. My experience, training, and the world class resources of Morgan Stanley provide me the tools to help find solutions for the most complex cases.

I live in Clifton, VA with my wife and elementary school age son and daughter. In our free time, we love being outdoors and experiencing the many beautiful parks our area has to offer, as well as trying new restaurants around the city.

About David Williams

A native of Virginia Beach, I relocated to northern Virginia in 2006 after completing my undergraduate degree in political science at James Madison University ("Go Dukes!") to pursue a career in counterterrorism. After spending over a decade in the defense and intelligence realm, I decided to enter the financial services industry in 2018. A drive to help individuals and their families build and preserve wealth precipitated this change, and ultimately led me to Morgan Stanley; it has been a welcome and rewarding endeavor thus far.

As your trusted advisor, my mission is to help you develop, refine, and ultimately achieve your financial goals and objectives. I strive to understand what's important to you and your family, and to help you create a road map for financial success. Leveraging the skills and abilities of the Alexandria Group and Morgan Stanley, I can make actionable investment recommendations based on a combination of data and other factors important to you.

When I am not engaged with clients or my team, I enjoy traveling domestically and abroad, attending sporting events, and broadening my musical horizons.

About Sandra Guerrant

For more than 18 years, I’ve enjoyed working with Roger and helping his clients. I have supported The Alexandria Group’s advisors, Roger and Eric, since its inception in 2009, handling all administrative responsibilities and client service with dedication and efficiency.

Our clients deserve to receive exceptional service, and as Senior Registered Associate I play a central role in helping The Alexandria Group to deliver it. I am licensed and qualified to handle client requests to buy and sell securities, manage accounts, and direct new client service initiatives. I take pride in the level of customer service I’ve provided to our clients and the long relationships we’ve built in the years I’ve worked with Roger and Eric.

I attended Mary Washington College and received a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of South Florida. When not working, I enjoy experiencing the fantastic artistic and cultural opportunities our area offers with my husband, family, and friends.

About Tony Natale

In October 2017, I joined Morgan Stanley and the Alexandria Group as an intern, after studying mathematics and economics at Syracuse University. I transitioned into a full-time role in May 2018 – joining the team as a Client Service Associate. In May 2022 I transitioned to my current role as a Wealth Management Analyst. My goal is to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can. In doing so, I hope I can provide a high-level of support to my team and service to our clients.

I recently moved to Falls Church and have enjoyed becoming more familiar with the DC area. In my free time, I enjoy learning about entrepreneurship and exploring the growing field of eSports.

About Michael J. Hartary

I began my career in financial services in 1991 after taking an investing course in college. I pride myself on my ability to share the knowledge I’ve gained over the years with our clients and our advisors and I do so in a concise, digestible way.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA and earned an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management while working full time. I currently hold my Series 7, 9, 10, and 66 licenses.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, birding and gardening and I’m passionate about sustainability.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
