OUR PLANNING PROCESS

Financial planning is the cornerstone of our practice. Our process begins with you, your investment objectives and your financial goals. Our approach is holistic and encompasses all the elements of your financial life; from your investments and cash management needs, to ensuring that your intentions align with your goals and wealth management strategy. Whether your financial goal may be to grow your wealth, preserve it, or pass it on to others, you can count on our team to work with you to create a tailored strategy to get you there.
    1: Discovery & Goals Analysis
We take the time to fully understand you and your family. Whether you’re planning for retirement, purchasing a home, or living out your golden years – We consider all of your needs, wants, and wishes when building your financial plan. Our mission is to align your actions with your intentions for a more successful outcome. To do this, we need to understand what is important to you.
    2: Evaluate & Implement
Using our institutional risk management framework to assess current assets and risk exposures, We will begin to construct a financial plan which encompasses every important detail of your life. Then, with your approval, we begin to implement the plan. This often encompasses a broad range of strategies – from investments and insurance to lending and estate planning.
    3: Communicate
Life evolves and market conditions change, so it is important to keep the lines of communication open. To ensure a personalized experience, we customize a communication plan that takes into account your preferences.
    4: Ongoing Review
Finally, we meet regularly to ensure your plan remains current and to review your progress towards achieving your goals. We will also coordinate with your CPA and estate attorney as necessary to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive strategy.

11Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice.
