Brett's Story

Brett’s career with The McNamee Group officially began working side by side with his father, Edward McNamee - Managing Director, when he was just 19 years old. After decades of experience working with multi-generational clients, Brett has become widely recognized by his team and his clients for creating inventive solutions focused on the unique concerns, aspirations, and values of his clients and their families. His clients also praise him for his knack in explaining advanced concepts for them to grasp, working with them to prioritize and simplify their financial lives in the complex world. In 2015, Brett was named to President’s Club, an elite advisor level within Morgan Stanley for his excellence in client service and wealth management.

Though many endeavor to advise on complex planning and retirement issues, very few have committed to enriching themselves with advanced professional degrees – and even fewer have made the commitment to achieve the many designations needed to offer tailored solutions to a wide-range of clients. Brett begins with discovery, where he explores the client’s personal and financial values, interests, objectives, and concerns. This comprehensive examination allows him to focus on the needs of his client, uncovering the role their wealth needs to play in their life. Whether it's identifying passions that shape gifting strategies and other legacies, or prepping clients for their retirement years, Brett pinpoints the objective first, then focuses on strategizing a plan.


Brett distinctively uses financial planning software to create a live, interactive analysis based on changes in spending, earnings, savings, and other dynamics. By carefully plotting out spending goals, building and monitoring a personalized portfolio based on the risk-adjusted return needed to achieve those goals, and reviewing the plan one-on-one throughout the years, Brett instills a sense of financial security through his excellence in helping clients preserve, grow, and transfer their wealth to their loved ones.

    Over the past two decades, Brett has worked with his father (Edward McNamee - Managing Director, a 50 year veteran in the wealth management industry) and other team members to utilize their combined knowledge and experience to help clients and their families navigate all stages of life.  In addition to extensive experience, Brett has also achieved the following designations through rigorous coursework and examinations:
