About Ira Mark

Ira brings almost 30 years of financial services experience to every client he advises. His father was a Financial Advisor at a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm who asked his son to look after his clients when illness forced him to retire from practice. At the age of 23, Ira met face-to-face with each of his father’s clients and impressed them with his knowledge of fixed income investing and commitment to personalized service.

Over the years, Ira grew his practice at several well-known firms before joining Morgan Stanley in 2020. His business had grown to a point where he realized his clients required a broader selection of fixed income and other investment products, more cutting-edge technology, and access to knowledgeable professionals whom he could call on to advise his clients on lending and other non-investment disciplines. Today, Ira and his partner Michael Berger, with whom he formed The Mark/Berger Group 20 years ago, remain committed to helping clients preserve capital and earn reliable income through high quality fixed income investments. The team also offers equity-focused strategies through carefully researched third party investment management organizations.

A graduate of The University of Maryland, Ira has always exhibited an entrepreneurial spirit, as well as a passion for interpersonal relationships and service that makes a difference in the lives of his clients. This passion has contributed greatly to the industry recognition he has received over the years, including selection as one of Barron's Top 1,200 Financial Advisors: State-by-State in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Ira is active in his community, and has lectured on wealth management at The University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business where two of his three children are currently students. Ira and his wife Stephanie reside in Brookville, LI.

About Jonathan Fladell

Jon has been in the financial services industry since 2005 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2020, joining forces with Ira Mark and Michael Berger to form The Preserve Group. Jon is a Managing Director and one of the Head Portfolio Managers on the team. He focuses on delivering clients personalized comprehensive wealth strategies with his knowledge of fixed income investing, growth-oriented equity strategies and alternative investments. Jon and his team pride themselves on providing a high level of client service and was named to Forbes America’s Top Wealth Management Teams in 2022.

Outside of the office, Jon enjoys spending quality time with his daughters Liv and Jolie and is passionate about supporting charities. You can also find him on the golf course as he is an avid golfer. Jon is a graduate of the University of Indiana and resides in Port Washington with his wife Deena and his children.

About Michael Berger

Mike has been a Financial Advisor for his entire adult life. He interned with a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm while still in college and went to work with that firm immediately after graduation. Two years later, he joined forces with his brother-in-law, Ira Mark, to form The Mark/Berger Group. The team transitioned its practice to several other well-known firms over the next two decades and joined Morgan Stanley in 2020.

Mike focuses primarily on investing, advising high net worth clients, successful business owners, professionals and corporate executives. Clients look to him for both growth-oriented equity strategies and fixed income guidance that has helped them preserve their capital while earning higher income. He has also helped numerous clients prepare for retirement by showing them how to convert assets to income that will help them meet day-to-day expenses with greater confidence.

Mike greatly enjoys interacting with clients of all ages and helping them meet the challenges standing between them and their goals. Outside the office, Mike supports several local charities and not-for-profits. He has also coached youth lacrosse and continues to spend many of his weekends rooting for his son Josh and his daughter Casey at their athletic events.

Mike is a graduate of The University of Maryland with a degree in Business and a concentration in Marketing. He and his wife Lauryn reside with their children in Roslyn.
