Welcome to The Harmony Family Office

Our Virtual Family Office is designed for families who require more than investment management alone. We integrate portfolio oversight with the many dimensions of wealth planning, family governance, administrative coordination, and highly personalized care for each generation of your family.

Our reporting capabilities are designed to harmonize key details across family members, legal entities, trusts, accounts, and related planning structures, helping clients and their advisors make more informed, coordinated decisions.

The Harmony Family Office maintains an intentionally limited client-to-team-member ratio of 2:1, enabling us to provide a highly responsive, high-touch experience. This structure allows us to serve as a central point of coordination- helping us function beyond just an advisory role for each client. Our team has over $3.7 Billion in Capital Responsibility (August 2026).

Our team assists families in developing long-range strategies while also providing a disciplined system of ongoing care, governance, and process. Our approach is designed to support decision-making across lifetimes and generations, while helping to simplify the daily complexity that often accompanies significant wealth.

We also assist in coordinating each family's broader advisory ecosystem, including attorneys, accountants, trust officers, insurance professionals, property managers, and other key advisors. This enables us to support both active strategic planning and the management of time-sensitive administrative needs. Over many decades, our team has developed a consultative, integrated, and multidisciplinary approach to wealth management—one that seeks to advise, research, service, manage, and simplify the details of our clients' financial lives.

Our professionals bring experience across private banking, corporate trust, tax and legal administration, charitable grant management, contract negotiations, family governance and dynamics, retirement planning, and executive compensation strategies. This depth of experience allows us to deliver a premium family office experience tailored to the needs, priorities, and values of each client.

Kathleen Youngerman, Managing Director of The Harmony Family Office, has been recognized as a MAKER by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in partnership with MAKERS, a project dedicated to identifying and celebrating women of accomplishment across multiple fields. Each year, only 12 individuals receive this honor. Kathleen and The Harmony Family Office team have also been recognized by Barron's and Forbes on leading industry lists for more than a decade and continue to be frequently cited in the press for top industry awards. Efficient Strategies, in-depth service, exclusive resources, aligned to your goals

Families rarely come to us with one simple question or need. More often, they are navigating several major decisions at once: selling a business, diversifying concentrated stock, preparing the next generation, buying or selling real estate, creating liquidity, revisiting estate plans, or deciding how to give back.

    Private Markets

Many companies are staying private longer, which means value may be created before shares are available in the public markets. We can help evaluate private market opportunities and provide access to Morgan Stanley's broader private markets platform.

    Portfolio Management

Our portfolio management team builds customized investment strategies designed around each family's goals, risk profile, income needs, liquidity requirements, tax considerations, and time horizon. We draw on Morgan Stanley's global research and investment resources while tailoring recommendations to the realities of each client's financial life.

    Portfolio Solutions
    Tax-Efficient Planning

Taxes act as a drag on your investment performance that can be heavier than any fee you pay. But they might also be the easiest to reduce, with the right strategies in place. Advanced tax planning considers much more than just your portfolio; it includes coordination with your entire estate. We analyze your entire estate alongside your CPA to uncover potential tax-reducing opportunities.

    Our Tax Center
    Non-Traditional Assets

For qualified investors, alternative investments may help broaden opportunity and diversify risk. We can help evaluate strategies across private equity, commodities, hedge funds, real estate, exchange funds, limited partnerships, and other nontraditional investments based on each client's objectives, liquidity needs, and risk tolerance.

    Advanced Estate Planning

Significant wealth often requires careful coordination across generations, trusts, entities, real estate, business interests, and charitable goals. Working with a family's attorneys and tax advisors, we help unlock and organize the planning process and evaluate strategies such as GRATs, SLATs, CLATs, family partnerships, and other trust and estate structures.

    Demystifying the Wealth Acronyms
    Philanthropy Management

We help families turn charitable intent into a thoughtful giving strategy. This may include donor advised funds, charitable trusts, family foundations, gifting of appreciated assets, and family conversations around mission, values, and impact.

    Giving Back
    Family Office & Concierge Services

We help manage the details that often come with significant wealth, from coordinating advisors and planning meetings to helping organize records, track action items, and support family decision-making. Our goal is to make the family's financial life feel more seamless through our service.

    Cash Management Services

Liquidity planning is often where strategy becomes real life. We help families think through cash flow, borrowing, large purchases, business needs, real estate goals, and short-term liquidity so decisions can be made thoughtfully and without unnecessary disruption to the broader plan.

Efficient Strategies for Complex Investors.

We work with a select group of clients whose financial lives require more than a standard investment plan. Many are managing businesses, concentrated stock, real estate, trusts, family entities, philanthropy, and major life transitions — often all at the same time.

    Business Owners

For business owners, the company is often both a life's work and a major part of the family's wealth. We help clients think through the full lifecycle of ownership, from growth and liquidity planning to succession, sale, family transition, and life after the business.

We can help coordinate investment strategy, lending, estate planning, tax-aware planning, insurance, charitable goals, and family governance alongside the clients' outside advisors.

How We Plan for Business Owners
    Multi-Generational Heirs

Wealth transfer is not only about assets. It is also about education, communication, responsibility, and values. We help families prepare the next generation through planning conversations, family meetings, financial education, governance support, and coordination with trustees and other advisors.

Our goal is to help heirs understand the wealth they may one day steward and the responsibilities that come with it.

    NextGen Resources
Individuals, Families, & Companies With Upcoming Major Liquidity Events

A liquidity event can be one of the most important financial moments in a family's life. Whether it involves selling a business, monetizing stock, receiving an inheritance, or preparing for an IPO, we help clients build a clear plan before decisions need to be made.

That plan may include managing taxes, diversifying risk, creating liquidity, evaluating estate planning strategies, preparing family members, and determining how the proceeds should support long-term goals.

    What Comes Next?
    Executives

Executives often have compensation and planning needs that require close attention. We help clients navigate equity compensation, concentrated stock, vesting schedules, insider trading rules, retirement planning, liquidity needs, and long-term diversification.

    Common areas include:
    •Non-qualified stock options
    •Restricted stock units
    •Performance stock units
    •Restricted stock awards
    •Deferred compensation
    •10b5-1 planning

    Executive Services
    Ultra-High-Net Worth Families

Ultra-high-net-worth families often have wealth spread across many areas: investment accounts, trusts, family partnerships, operating businesses, real estate, charitable vehicles, and private investments. We help organize these pieces into a coordinated plan.

Our work often includes portfolio management, lending, estate and trust coordination, family governance, philanthropic planning, and ongoing support for the day-to-day details of a complex financial life.

    Architecting a Family Office
    Highly Compensated Employees

For highly compensated employees, wealth may build through several forms of compensation beyond salary. We help clients understand and manage RSUs, ESPPs, deferred compensation, incentive stock options, non-qualified stock options, stock appreciation rights, and other benefits.

We focus on helping clients make informed decisions around taxes, concentration risk, liquidity, diversification, and long-term planning.
