My Mission

Helping Clients Make Smart Decisions With Their Money

My mission is to help clients make smart investment and financial decisions through professional relationships based on uncompromising integrity, trust, and personalized service. I accomplish this mission by offering holistic, comprehensive advisory services to help clients prioritize and attain their life goals.

My sole purpose is to help clients arrange their financial affairs in an efficient and effective way; to preserve their capital and obtain risk-adjusted returns consistent with their financial objectives; and, most importantly, help them achieve their financial goals.

I believe in taking a holistic approach to financial planning for clients. I apply the "whole person" concept in evaluating and presenting the financial options available to the individual client. In my experience the "best" financial solution to a given situation is not necessarily an appropriate option for the client.

Each client receives an individualized analysis reflecting their current situation and available financial solutions applicable to their particular situation as well as specific recommendations as to which paths to follow. We believe that it is particularly important to present relevant financial alternatives in order to develop a truly cohesive plan—one that is designed to achieve their lifelong financial goals as well as be consistent with their personal philosophy. We find that quality financial decisions are made after the client is informed of options that they may not know are possible.

I believe with responsible decisions, reasonable expectations, and vigilant, attentive counsel each client can achieve their financial goals.

Personal Bio

Ross D. Pearlman is a highly experienced Financial Advisor in Morgan Stanley’s Scottsdale, Arizona office. To help investors seek their unique financial goals, he employs a holistic financial planning process as well as a strict buy-sell discipline in managing their custom-tailored, highly diversified investment portfolios.
Ross has more than 30 years of experience as a financial advisor. More notably, he has never held a position outside the securities industry since graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University in 1991.
Ross’ keen interest and experience in finance has enabled him to build strong, enduring relationships with a broad range of investors, including high net worth individuals and their families. In fact, many of his clients have been with him for more than two decades and have referred other investors to him, as well.
A key reason Ross has such a loyal following is that he places as much importance on protecting wealth as he does on growing it. In general, he seeks favorable returns in bull markets and better-than-average results than the major averages in declining markets.
Another reason for his loyal following is that he knows what it takes to manage money in different market and economic environments. He has managed money through some of the best times in market history, as well as some of the more difficult, including the Dot-Com bubble in 2000 and the 2008 Financial Crisis.
Ross also places a great deal of emphasis on providing a high-level of caring, dedicated client service. For example, he keeps in touch with his clients regularly and makes himself readily available to answer questions about their portfolios or market and economic conditions.
Ross isn’t just interested in keeping his clients’ finances in good shape. He’s deeply devoted to keeping himself fit, as well, cycling upwards of 300 miles a week. Moreover, Ross is a triathlete and an avid snowboarder and traveler. In his down time, Ross relaxes with his miniature Dachshund and his 92-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback.

7Structured Investments are complex and not appropriate for all investors. An investment in structured investments involves risks. These risks can include but are not limited to: fluctuations in the price, level or yield of underlying asset(s), interest rates, currency values and credit quality, substantial loss of principal, limits on participation in appreciation of underlying asset(s), limited liquidity, credit risk, and/or conflicts of interest. Many structured investments do not pay interest or guarantee a return above principal at maturity. Investors should read the security’s offering documentation prior to making an investment decision.

8Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
