About Rick Morgan
Frederick (Rick) H. Morgan was born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, graduating from West Virginia University with a degree in Economics. Rick became a financial advisor in 1969 with Smith Barney & Co and remained resilient during three different mergers, staying on to work for Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co, then Citigroup, and then finally Morgan Stanley. His partnership with the Graystone Consulting team in Charleston, WV allows him to "quarterback" the client relationship, combining his advice with the advanced competencies of Graystone's three CFPs®, one CFA®, reporting and analytics teams and other professionals.
Outside of work, Rick has served in various charitable positions including board chair for the YMCA, board chair for the Buckskin Council Boy Scouts of America, head of the investment committee and board member of the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, and board member of the Charleston Federal Savings and Loan Association.
Rick entered the U.S. Marine Corps and commissioned 2nd Lieutenant after advanced training, serving as Infantry Platoon Commander in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive in 1968. He received two bronze stars with "Combat V", two purple hearts, and a Presidential Unit Citation presented to his Battalion.
Rick moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2005 and currently divides his Morgan Stanley time between the Easton, MD branch and the Boca Raton, FL branch. Rick has three grown daughters with his wife, Elizabeth, and spends his free time golfing and endurance swimming.
