About Ted Wood

Ted Wood has over two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to becoming a Financial Advisor, Ted was a Smith Barney client for 10 years during his previous career as a professional baseball player, bringing a distinctive background to the table. This experience on the other side of the Advisor-Client relationship gave him great insight on how to explain, present and educate clients about their financial lives.

His approach to business is centered around understanding each client’s goals through a thorough discovery. Upon identifying client goals, he constructs tailored financial plans, and determines the client’s investment portfolio pertaining to their risk tolerance and liquidity. The planning process triggers conversations that pertain to retirement, insurance, investments and more. Each of these concepts provide the foundation of his needs-based service structure.

Ted understands just how difficult it can be to make financial decisions. When it comes to educating clients, framing the “why” is central to the conversation. He believes sustaining one’s lifestyle is ultimately more about purchasing power over time than it is account value. Defining purchasing power is normally a moment of enlightenment for his clients, where they truly understand the “why.”

Ted attended the University of New Orleans where he was a member of the baseball team. Ted is an Olympic gold medalist, having competed for the 1988 U.S. Baseball Olympic team. Since joining Morgan Stanley in 2000, he has earned and holds the Financial Planning Specialist designation. Outside of work, Ted enjoys supporting his community's sports teams and playing the game of golf. He is happily married to his wife Olga of 32 years. Together they have 2 daughters, Nadia and Dior. In addition, they have 4 grandchildren, Clara, Lenor, Helen and Jackson.

About Michael Edmonds

Michael Edmonds is a Vice President and Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley. He joined the firm after seven years at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor. He received a BA degree from Winthrop University in English.

Michael became a Financial Advisor to help hardworking people grow and preserve their wealth. He was raised by his mother, an immigrant from the Philippines who worked hard just to put food on the table for her family. Before becoming a Financial Advisor, Michael was a teacher in an underfunded public school system for five years. Watching the sacrifices his mother made and experiencing the difficulties a lack of funding can create in the classroom, Michael grew to appreciate the value of money and its ability to change lives for the better if taken care of properly. These experiences taught him the difficulty of acquiring wealth, and the vital importance of helping maximize every dollar through financial planning and sound investments.

Michael believes in putting his clients first. He often coordinates with clients’ attorneys, executors, accountants, and other relevant professionals when generating a financial plan. Positions are vigilantly monitored, and meetings are regularly scheduled to appraise progress toward goals and overall financial condition.

Outside of work, Michael is active in his church. He serves in leadership roles in the men's ministry and volunteers for many causes including Rise Against Hunger, Operation Christmas Child, and Smart Lunch Smart Kid. He is also a member of the Entrepreneurship and Finance Clubs at Georgia Tech. Michael is married to his wonderful wife, Lauren, and they have two darling children. Michael’s favorite pastimes are playing pickleball, board gaming, and spending quality time with family.
