My Story and Services

Doug brings a distinguished skill set to his clients at Morgan Stanley. Prior to becoming a financial advisor in 1994, Doug was in the private practice of law (not-practicing at Morgan Stanley) in Rhode Island with concentrations in business law and estate planning. Doug has published a number of articles, including "Procedures for Management of Retirement Plan Assets" and "Fiduciary Duties of the Trustee, Executor, and Administrator Regarding Management of Funds" published by the Rhode Island Bar Association. He is a member of the Rhode Island and the District of Columbia Bar Associations. In addition to his experience as a practicing attorney, he also served as Town Councilman for the Town of Smithfield from 1990-1994.

While previously practicing law, Doug identified a need for financial advisors who can integrate investments, estate planning, and other wealth management strategies. To address this need, Doug incorporates his knowledge and experience in these disciplines in crafting custom wealth management strategies for his clients. He helps address the investment needs of his clients through a four-step process that utilizes a wide range of investments and asset allocation strategies. His process is designed to provide customized solutions for his clients who include individuals, high net worth families, small business owners, and pension plans.

Doug has been active in Rhode Island charitable causes for many years. He is currently on the Finance Council of the Church of Saint Sebastian, Providence RI. He is a past President of the Board of Directors and Board Member at Button Hole, a non-profit organization focused on teaching life values through the game of golf. He is also a past Board Member and Treasurer of Meals on Wheels Rhode Island, as well as a past Board Member of the Rhode Island Cancer Council.

Doug is a lifelong Rhode Islander and currently resides with his family in Providence, RI. He is a graduate of Moses Brown School and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in accounting from Boston College, School of Management in 1985. He then went on to receive a Juris Doctor Degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 1989.
