Our Story and Process

The more money you earn, the more complicated your financial life can become. Executives face corporate equity challenges. Business owners should be prepared to consider exit strategies. Many families have philanthropic aspirations. But no matter your circumstances, some questions are universal:

  • Am I on track to reach my long-term goals?
  • How can I better protect what i've earned?
  • What tax management strategies should I leverage?
  • Can I be doing more to help secure my family's financial future?

As a client-oriented team with 80+ years of combined experience, we help design your financial future so that no challenge -- complex or mundane -- stands between you and your vision of success.

That said, we don't just make decisions for you. Our aim is to educate you and your family so that you're confident about the financial decisions you make today, tomorrow, and beyond. We always make ourselves available to help answer your questions, big and small. Our only goal is to help you reach yours.

Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC ("Morgan Stanley"), its affiliates and Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors or Private Wealth Advisors do not provide tax or legal advice. Individuals should consult their tax advisor for matters involving taxation and tax planning and their attorney for matters involving trusts, estate planning, charitable giving, philanthropic planning or other legal matters.

Alternative Investments

Put simply, our investment universe puts you at the center. Beyond traditional stocks and bonds, we also offer access to a wide range of Alternative Investments including Private Equity, Private Credit, Private Real Estate, Exchange Funds, and Collectibles. But at the end of the day, the portfolio we build for you will aim to reflect your individual goals, challenges, and needs -- in other words, your larger financial plan.

Our Portfolio Edge
  • Instituional Experience: Matt Harris brings a highly-sophisticated investing background that includes two decades working with international and domestic institutional equity groups in New York.
  • Firm Designation: With a distinctive Alternative Investment Director designation, John Gould is able to tap into an increasingly diverse set of investment options beyond traditional stocks, bonds, and cash.
  • Leading Resources: Morgan Stanley's leading alts platform provides exclusive access to funds that may otherwise be available only to institutional investors.

Alternative investments are often speculative and include a high degree of risk. Investors can lose all or a substantial amount of their investment. They may be highly illiquid, can engage in leverage, short-selling and other speculative practices that may increase volatility and the risk of loss, and may be subject to large investment minimums and initial lock-ups. They may involve complex tax structures, tax efficient investing and delays in distributing important tax information. They may have higher fees and expenses that traditional investments, and such fees and expenses can lower the returns achieved by investors.

Financial Advisor

Matt Harris is a Financial Advisor with the Celestial Group at Morgan Stanley in Cincinnati, Ohio. Leveraging his extensive experience in institutional investing, he is dedicated to guiding clients toward achieving their sophisticated long-term financial objectives.

A graduate of Denison University, Matt spent the first 19 years of his career on Wall Street, advising Institutional clients and large family offices on portfolio construction, research, and trading strategies. He began his career with Morgan Stanley in 1998 with the international/domestic institutional equity group. He went on to serve as Head of Trading at several well-respected boutique firms in the New York area, including Tuohy Brothers, Madison Williams, and Janney Montgomery Scott. He has also undertaken rigorous coursework to become a Certified Exit Planning Advisor® (CEPA®) — an elite designation he leverages to deliver tailored solutions to business owners and entrepreneurs leading up to, during, and after the sale of their company. Bottom line: Matt doesn't just manage wealth; he helps cultivate financial empowerment for his clients for decades and generations to come.

Outside the office, Matt lives in Cincinnati with his wife Heather and their 3 children: Hunter, Madison and Lilly. A former NCAA Lacrosse player, he is an avid sports fan and enjoys staying active in his free time.
