Our Philosophy

Our core philosophy allows us to operate for clients within the Morgan Stanley Portfolio Management Program (PM) with Steve Earle as lead Portfolio Manager / Financial Advisor. In the PM program, our objective is to manage high quality, mainly Large and Mid-Cap companies with an emphasis on their historical record of not only earnings, but ultimately their Free Cash Flow (FCF). By maintaining a business owner mindset, we want to participate in the businesses that can grow not only profits, but ultimately plentiful cash flow, combined with a quality balance sheet and a durable business model. We believe that our portfolios can deliver a favorable risk adjusted return over long term market cycles. Companies that have strong balance sheets, reasonable or no debt and free cash that are in line or better than their sector averages typically provide stability to a portfolio. Often, Mutual Funds may not be cost effective and fund mandates sometimes limit flexibility in different market conditions, not to mention taxes.

Our Four Pillars of Investing

This strategy adheres to our Four Pillars, our philosophy in achieving needed client outcomes. We have learned over many years that our Four Pillar Process has often provided us a path and guidance over normal and extreme environments in the Capital Markets. While one type of analysis doesn’t always work in various conditions, understanding that every pillar provides us a map to separate signal versus noise is the focus.

    Certified Portfolio Manager®
Steve Earle holds the Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®) certification that is sponsored by the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers (ACPM) affiliated with the College of IOER at Columbia University.

The CPM certification is designed to provide a deeper understanding and application of fundamental security analysis, asset allocation, and portfolio management concepts for financial services industry professionals managing discretionary portfolios. The program advances knowledge in three vital areas: Valuation Analysis, Portfolio Construction and Risk Management. We feel this gives us an advantage in asset management, and the ability to recognize value where others may not. In other words, there is most often a difference between price and value.

Meet Broadland Wealth Management

About Steven Earle

Steve is a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and the founder of the Broadland Wealth Management team at Morgan Stanley. Steve started his career in investments and financial planning 24 years ago at Robinson-Humphrey/Smith Barney, a predecessor firm of Morgan Stanley. Prior to Steve starting his career in investments, his experience in negotiations and transactions in other industries have helped him have a lens on how financial capital is best utilized. Over the years, he has enjoyed being able to help the team’s clients assess both opportunities and trade-offs. Steve’s experience offers clients not just financial planning, but also estate planning and tax management strategies . Also, Steve’s experience allows him to emphasize in particular the needs of families and closely held family businesses who have worked hard to accumulate assets over time, and who have accumulated wealth with a focus and desire to preserve and continue their work ethic and philosophy for the generations.

Day to day, Steve’s main role for clients is working as a Senior Portfolio Management Director within Morgan Stanley to constantly stay abreast of research and capital markets in order to make client portfolio decisions. Recently, he obtained the certification of CERTIFIED PORTFOLIO MANAGER® from the Academy of Certified Portfolio Managers completed through Columbia University in New York. He enjoys digging into the dynamics of economics and the capital markets and its effects. Also, his certification as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ has prepared him for helping address clients’ portfolios holistically. In addition, Steve is a Family Wealth Director, a designation earned by fewer than 4% of Morgan Stanley advisors, who have extensive experience and training helping address the complex financial needs of ultra-high-net-worth families. At Morgan Stanley, Steve is also a member of the firm’s President’s Council. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia, after attending Darlington School in Rome, Georgia where he was born and raised.

Steve and his wife Kimberly have two children— a son, Andrew, who graduated from Rhodes College and has joined the practice as a Financial Advisor, and a daughter, Ansley, who graduated from the University of Georgia and is embarking on her career in Digital Marketing. Outside the office, they are members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church. He has volunteered with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, among others charitable groups. Steve is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting, fly-fishing, visiting scenic parks across the country, and spending time afield with friends and his British Labrador, Macie.

About Andrew Earle

As an Advisor on the team I focus on assisting our clients with asset and portfolio management, liquidity needs, and estate planning strategies. I work with high-net-worth individuals, families, and small businesses in planning for generational wealth transfers. I enjoy collaborating with the next generation and focus on how to craft a wealth accumulation mind-set.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, I was an underwriting analyst based in Memphis with Greystone Servicing Corporation. In that role, I worked on commercial real estate loans and assisted multifamily investors with evaluating potential properties and underwriting the loan prior to them being submitted to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I enjoyed my time at Greystone because I was able to travel across the country and build relationships with investors.

I grew up in Atlanta and attended Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School prior to going to Rhodes College in Memphis, TN where I played football and graduated with a degree in Political Science. My wife, Alex and I met in college and are members of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and enjoy spending time traveling as well as playing golf and tennis. When we aren’t doing one of those things you can find us outside with our Boykin Spaniel, Miller. In my free time I am an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. I love traveling to new places and discovering what nature has to offer. As a Type One Diabetic, I also spend my time volunteering with JDRF, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundations, and am a part of the Young Leadership Committee.

Andrew has been recognized as a member of the Firm’s 2025 Pacesetters Club, a global recognition program for Financial Advisors who, early in their career, have demonstrated the highest professional standards and first class client service.
Securities Agent: NV, NJ, MD, FL, CO, NY, IL, MO, SD, SC, KY, TN, MT, NC, IN, VA, PA, AL, MI, LA, GA, CA, TX, CT, AZ, WA; General Securities Representative; Investment Advisor Representative

About Martha Takacs

I am responsible for aligning portfolios with asset allocation models, rebalancing portfolios as needed, helping address cash-flow distribution and implementing financial plans, among other functions. Through all aspects of my work, I strive to provide exceptional service and develop long-lasting client relationships.

I have an extensive background in the financial services industry spanning more than 40 years, including 24 years in institutional investments and 16 years in individual wealth management. I attended the University of Alabama.

My husband, Bob, and I have three grown children, two of whom have followed in our footsteps into the financial industry. I am a member of the Roswell Presbyterian Church, where I volunteer at church-hosted events and work with young people through various programs. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading, biking, running and spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren.

Rebalancing and asset allocation do not protect against a loss in declining financial markets. There may be a potential tax implication with a rebalancing strategy. Investors should consult with their tax advisor before implementing such a strategy.

About Paige Kerr

I manage the day-to-day operations for Broadland Wealth Management, focusing on the client experience, and helping the team run more efficiently. My goal for the team is to continue to enhance our value to clients as trusted resources and sounding boards.

With over 20 years in financial services in working with clients, I appreciate the needs and expectations of our clients for the highest level of service possible. And, with 7, 63, 66 and 24 FINRA securities registrations, my knowledge and experience complements the capable Broadland team capabilities.

I am happy to say I am a native Atlantan and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Agnes Scott College, though I cheer for the Georgia Bulldogs! Outside the office, I enjoy landscaping and gardening.

About Jaymie Dietz

Within our team, I support all aspects of the client experience, including daily administrative and operational tasks of the business and attending to a broad variety of service needs. In addition, I hold the Financial Planning Specialist designation and am also currently studying to become a Certified Financial Planner.

After graduating from the University of South Florida, I worked in financial services for two years before taking an opportunity to teach English in Spain. I also taught algebra and Spanish upon my return to the States. At Broadland Wealth Management, I now enjoy combining my knowledge of the industry with my passion for continuous learning and my understanding of others from all backgrounds.

A Midwesterner at heart, I am originally from Illinois but have lived in Florida, Spain, and Texas before landing in Georgia. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
