Investment Philosophy

MY PRACTICE HAS ONE GOAL: TO HELP PRESERVE AND ENHANCE THE ASSETS OF MY CLIENTS IN LIGHT OF EACH ONE'S NEEDS AND CIRCUMSTANCES.

I accomplish this by formulating and executing customized financial plans working with my client's identified assets in order to help meet their long-term goals. I work with my clients to educate them in the value and importance of managing risk as a means to maximizing gains. I do this by using a combination of fundamental research (what to buy), technical research (when to buy), and asset allocation (diversification).

Disclosure:
Diversification and Asset Allocation does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.

Step One: Identify your investment goals

The investment process begins with a comprehensive understanding of your present financial resources, liabilities and objectives (both short and long-term), as well as the level of risk with which you are comfortable.

    Icon Image
Step Two: Tailor your custom financial plan

The correct investment plan can provide diversification of your portfolio, potentially help enhance returns, lower overall volatility and position your portfolio to take advantage of developing investment opportunities.

    Icon Image
    Step Three: Strategy Implementation

It is imperative that each client understands the investment strategy and is comfortable with all aspects of the plan. I will then move forward with implementation and make specific recommendations as opportunities present themselves.

    Icon Image
    Step Four: Monitor your progress

The final step of the process is a periodic review of the plan to reconfirm the suitability of the recommendations in respect to the original goals and any new objectives that the client may have as well as monitoring market developments to determine appropriate adjustments.

11Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
