About Brian Schuler
There’s a lot riding on your investments. That’s why, for Brian the most enjoyable aspect of being a Certified Financial Planner and Senior Portfolio Manager, is helping clients navigate some of their most personal, critical, and challenging aspects of their lives.
As a former member of the U.S. Army and a graduate of West Point and the Army’s Ranger School, Brian advocates planning for the best-case scenario while preparing for the worst. He believes, life rarely goes precisely as we expect, thus the purpose of planning is to identify goals and objectives and to develop a framework for achieving them. Establishing a framework requires considering risks, evaluating alternative paths, and identifying contingencies ahead of time. Such preparation enhances decision-making and ultimately improves outcomes when changes inevitably arise.
As we implement your plan, Brian provides you with a wide range of financial services, including, asset management, investment tax management, 401(K) rollovers, business planning, cash management, corporate retirement plans, education planning, estate planning strategies, endowments and foundations, exchange traded funds, executive financial services, institutional services, access to lending services, municipal bonds, professional portfolio management, retirement planning, and wealth management.
Following his career in the Army, Brian earned a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Maryland in 1999. He then moved to Oregon, to become a finance business analyst with Intel. He began a career in the financial services industry in 2002, with Strand, Atkinson, Williams, & York, and earned his CFP® designation in 2006. He later joined Morgan Stanley in 2008 along with his colleagues John York and Doug Strand.
Brian has been married for 31 years to his wife, Delyn, who is also a graduate of West Point and is currently an emergency trauma nurse at PeaceHealth hospital in Vancouver, WA. When not at work, he enjoys running, hiking, skiing and golf. With their children, Heidi and John, grown and out of the house, their 5-year-old Cockapoo, Ranger, he says, is now in charge.
