Experience, Education, and Recognition

Professional designations and industry recognitions can provide additional insight into an advisor's experience, continued education, and commitment to serving clients. Designations reflect specialized training in areas such as retirement planning, investment management, and wealth strategies, while awards often recognize professional excellence, leadership, and long-standing client relationships.

While no credential or recognition alone defines an advisor, together they help demonstrate a dedication to growth, knowledge, and delivering a thoughtful client experience.

About Scott Gross

Scott is a Financial Advisor in Reno and a former Assistant Branch Manager with Morgan Stanley, bringing more than 20 years of industry experience. He began his financial advising career in 1999 after being asked to step away from a successful C-suite path in Southwest Ohio to help manage the estates of two families. In 2002, Scott transitioned to Morgan Stanley to broaden his ability to support clients with their financial needs.

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science from Miami University with a double major in Accounting and Finance and a minor in History. He also received his MBA from Miami University in 1999 while serving as a corporate officer (Director of Stores) for a regional department store organization, where he was responsible for store-side budgeting for a business generating approximately $700 million in annual sales at the time.

Originally from Southwest Ohio, Scott lives in Reno with his wife, Kimberly. Together they have three children—daughters Morgan and Jordan, who moved across the country after playing college softball, and son Jacob, a U.S. Marine who now lives out of state with his wife. Scott and Kimberly are grateful to have welcomed a new grandchild and hope to grow their family further in the years ahead.

Outside the office, Scott is active in the community and is often volunteering through his church or supporting youth athletics. He has coached basketball, baseball, soccer, and softball, and he is passionate about helping others—values he’s proud to see reflected in his children as they give back in their own communities.

14Investing in the market entails the risk of market volatility. The value of all types of investments may increase or decrease over varying time periods. The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of sustainable or impact investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because sustainability and impact criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
