About Eric N Chandler

Eric N. Chandler is a Portfolio Manager and Branch Manager who has been with Morgan Stanley since 2013. Eric focuses on helping his client's achieve success in their financial lives, primarily working with entrepreneurs and executives. Eric and his partner Greg Talpey formed The Tidewater Group at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.

As a Portfolio Manager, Eric helps create tax-efficient portfolios, seeking long-term capital appreciation and consistent cash flow growth. Eric collaborates with his clients to help address their individual and group planning, investment, and banking needs. Working to ensure the right decision is made for them and their family.

Eric is a Michigan Native growing up on a farm in the small town of Lennon. Eric had roles within operation management and was a realtor prior to joining Morgan Stanley. Early on, he worked in his family's small business in Port Huron, which fueled his passion to work with small business owners. His main goal is to help simplify client's financial lives by setting clear goals and developing a roadmap to their success.

Eric resides in Chesterfield with his wife Lynette, and their two dogs, Joey and Charlie. In his spare time, Eric is an active member of the Catholic Church, enjoys playing golf, riding motorcycles, spending time with family and friends, spending time on the water, fishing, and scuba diving. Eric has been a certified scuba diver since he was a child and has enjoyed diving in many wonderful places.

About Greg Talpey

Greg Talpey joined Morgan Stanley in 2017 as a Financial Advisor and formed the Tidewater Group with his partner, Eric N. Chandler. The team focuses on financial planning and tax efficient strategies to fit the individual needs of their clients. Everyone's situation and goals are different, and Greg strongly believes each portfolio should reflect that. Investors can utilize Morgan Stanley’s tools and resources to help manage their portfolio if the situation is appropriate.

Greg attended Trinity College and received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. During his tenure, he was a member and captain of the men’s baseball team. During his junior year, he was awarded All-Conference, All-New England and All-American honors as a pitcher. He was a member of the 2003 and 2005 teams that advanced to the Division III college world series.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Greg worked in Sales at Prudential Financial for 8 years. He grew up in Connecticut, and he recently moved to Troy, Michigan. He splits his time between both areas; in Connecticut, he spends time with his 4 nieces and nephews. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and getting out on the water.

Peter Samurkas is a Registered Client Service Associate who has been with Morgan Stanley since 2022. Peter works with Eric N. Chandler and Greg Talpey as a part of the Tidewater Group where he provides client service and support to their book of business. He graduated from Oakland University in 2021 with his Bachelor of Science in Finance and he currently has his Series 66 license.

Peter resides in the city of Utica, Michigan. His interest in finance started when he was a child learning valuable lessons from his father on the subject. Working at a restaurant as a student instilled in him the importance of client interaction in any industry. He has a strong passion for giving back to the community. In his spare time, Peter is an active member of the Eagle Scouts, a member of the axe throwing league, enjoys cooking, and spending time with his cats, Jax and Annabelle.
