Meet The Stone - Beck Group

About Me

Toni Beck Espinoza is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Senior Vice President with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Pasadena where she has developed her career since 1991.  She is one of the principal advisors of the Stone-Beck Group, a team of seven individuals.  In 2016, she received the title of Family Wealth Advisor. Toni brings her financial planning knowledge and expertise to the group in the areas of investments, estate planning, retirement planning, lending and charitable giving.  She works with individuals, multi-generational families, corporations, pension plans, endowments and foundations.

Toni grew up in Racine, Wisconsin and began an extensive career in the banking industry when she was 15.  She continued working in the banking industry through college and beyond and achieved the role of operations manager.

Toni attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison.  She received her Bachelors of Social Work and studied for her Masters in Social Work.   She had an early career as a social worker working with the disadvantaged and the homeless before moving to California in 1986.  She feels this background provides her with a unique ability to better understand the behavioral and psychological aspects of families and money which she believes makes her a better wealth advisor.

Toni has a strong desire to give back to the community.  She has been involved with the Glendale Educational Foundation, an organization that helps raise funds for the Glendale public schools in the needed areas of Visual and Performing Arts, Science and Technology and Health and Fitness. She served the organization as the President, Vice President and Treasurer.  Toni has been a proud Kiwanian since 2003 and is the incoming President of the Kiwanis Club of Glendale.  She previously served as Vice President and also chaired several committees including Youth Services, Community Services, the Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash, the Holiday Gala and the Membership Committee.  She was honored in 2009 as “Kiwanian of the Year”.

In addition, Toni also serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Community Foundation of the Verdugos which links donors with needed services in the community.  She served on the board of directors for the YWCA of Glendale from 2002 to 2009 and was Treasurer for that organization for three years.   In addition, Toni was a board member and Treasurer for the Character and Ethics Project, an organization which promotes character and ethical behavior in the schools, business and the community and Vice President of the Arturo Sandoval Institute.

In 2016, Toni was recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager by L.A. Magzine.  In 2015, Toni was awarded the Woman of the Year by the Glendale Latino Association.  In the same year, she also received recognition by Business Life Magazine as one of that year’s Women Achievers.  She was recognized in 2013 by the YWCA of Glendale as a “Woman of Heart and Excellence”.  At that event, Toni shared her favorite quote by Plato, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.”  She strives every day to live her life in this manner.

Toni has been married to Vince Espinoza since 1992 and they have two sons, Vinny and Jake.  Both sons are currently attending college – Vinny at Cal State LA and Jake at Arizona State University.  Toni and her family have lived in La Crescenta since 1996.  Toni is an avid sports fan of the Wisconsin Badgers (her alumni), the Green Bay Packers and of course, the Los Angeles Lakers and Dodgers.  Toni and her family lead an active lifestyle which includes travel, wine tasting, spending time in Cambria and Lake Arrowhead, snow skiing and scuba diving.

6Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
