Welcome

Our Story and Services:
Retirement planning means more than providing you with investment advice. It means helping you maintain the financial independence you’ve worked your entire life to achieve. It means striving to ensure you have the means to pursue what's most important to you. And it means understanding you as an individual with unique goals, values and circumstances that shape the strategies we develop on your behalf.

A Purpose for Every Stage:
We designate a specific financial purpose for different stages of your life. When you’re working, it’s important for you to be able to concentrate on what makes you productive, while still spending time with your family and the activities you’re passionate about. During this stage, our purpose is to focus on savings and debt management seeking to ensure you’re financially prepared for retirement.

Once your reach the retirement stage, our purpose is to help ensure you don’t outlive your assets. So, we’ll assist you with important considerations such as balancing income, risk and preservation. We have a well-established process in place for this stage that includes continual asset monitoring, purposeful investing and ongoing communications with you.
Lastly, we’ll focus on your legacy. We’ll develop and implement a seamless plan to take care of those individuals or causes that matter most to you.

Holistic Planning:
We believe it’s essential to provide comprehensive planning and financial services to our clients. We offer advice on both sides of your balance sheet, investing and lending. We also embrace your banking needs, including cash management. All of this is important because thoughtful budgeting and planning can lead to better financial outcomes, as well as less stress in your life.
By combining our professional advice with the services provided by one of the nation’s premier wealth management organizations, we help ensure that all components of your financial life work together in harmony for you.

Commitment to You:
Our clients’ success is the true barometer for our practice. We never forget that we serve you, and recognize that ultimately you’re in charge. So, we strive to provide a concierge experience that’s built around your needs, lifestyle and priorities.

Additionally, the founding members of our team each have at least 15 years of experience in financial services. We’ve successfully navigated clients through challenging markets and macro events. And since we began our financial careers directly out of college, we’re still young enough to guide you through your retirement.

Our Clients

While we have the experience necessary to advise clients at any stage of their lives, we frequently work with those who are nearing retirement or already retired. This includes individuals from a broad range of backgrounds, such as corporate executives, business owners, entrepreneurs, attorneys, venture capital investors, real estate developers, teachers, firefighters and police officers.

The single most common characteristic our clients share? It’s that they’ve done a good job of saving for their retirement and take this matter seriously.

Working With Us

What can you expect as a new client? Here’s an overview of our process.
    Stage #1
We want to know you not only as a client, but as an individual. So, while we’ll ask about your financial picture, we’ll also ask questions about your life. Why are you here? What do you need help with? What keeps you up at night? What are you aspirations? We plan on being your dedicated financial advisor for the long term, so it’s important to have a holistic understanding about you.
    Stage #4
Once you agree to move forward, we’ll begin the onboarding process. We’ll walk you through every step of the transition—including opening your account, transferring funds and establishing your Morgan Stanley Online account—and make it easy for you.
    Stage #2
We’ll thoroughly review all the information gathered, and assess your current status relative to your objectives and goals. We’ll then present you with a financial roadmap filled with strategies and insights to help you arrive at your destination—while helping manage your risk along your journey. Questions are encouraged because we want you to feel comfortable and confident about your plan.
    Stage #5
We’ll provide ongoing monitoring of your plan to help ensure it stays on track. If any modifications may be necessary, we’ll let you know and explain why. We also urge you to share any new developments in your life—such as shifting priorities, unforeseen expenses or unexpected income demands—that may impact your plan.
    Stage #3
Transparency is important to us. So, we’ll discuss all potential fees with you upfront—even those that may not appear on your financial statements, such as mutual fund costs or other often hidden expenses.

Our Philosophy

All aspects of your financial life should work in harmony toward a single objective.

We use a thoughtful, team-based approach in an effort to help ensure your assets and liabilities help maximize your family’s long-term net worth, while helping meet your current income needs. Over time, fractions of a percentage can mean large sums of money when compounded. We can manage both your assets and your debts efficiently. When you effectively combine a strategy for both assets and liabilities with tax-advantaged ideas, you have a recipe for potential success.

We invest with a strong emphasis on cash flow into your portfolio. Our goal is to keep the dividend and interest income from your portfolio meaningfully higher than the average dividend of the stock market. This allows the dividend and interest generated within the portfolio to cover most of your income needs while in retirement, allowing for the principal to continue to grow over time.

For individuals who aren’t retired and still in the accumulation phase, this fresh influx of capital into your portfolio can be used in all types of markets to purchase additional shares of high-quality companies.

This approach is important because it’s more predictable than relying only on growth. Additionally, you can generate growth on top of the dividends.

Disclaimer:
Equity securities may fluctuate in response to news on companies, industries, market conditions and the general economic environment. Companies cannot assure or guarantee a certain rate of return or dividend yield; they can increase, decrease or totally eliminate their dividends without notice.

He’s been recognized by Forbes Magazine and the Wall Street Journal as a multi-year recipient (2019-2024) of the Five Star Wealth Manager award for his knowledge, dedication and experience in financial services. The Stanley Edwards Group has been recognized by Shook research as Best Team State of Ohio for 2023 and 2024.

Mitch provides comprehensive financial planning for pre-retirees, retirees and business owners covering areas such as investments, insurance and lending. He acts as a financial coordinator and advocate for his clients using a direct, down-to-earth approach and service-oriented philosophy. He honorably served in the United States Air Forces, and strives to apply the organization’s motto of “Integrity First, Service Before Self and Excellence In All We Do” when working with clients.

Mitch takes great pride when he can help clients realize their goals can be attainable—such as retiring on their own terms. His process of working with clients allows him to consult with individuals throughout the country in a personalized, hands-on manner.

As a youth, Mitch witnessed how making both good and bad financial decisions can not only impact an individual’s life but those around them, as well as on society in general. This later inspired him to become a Financial Advisor. He began his career in financial services in 2007 with Merrill Lynch. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2013 after being impressed by the firm’s emphasis on client service, as well as its extensive platforms.

While Mitch was born and raised in North Carolina, he graduated from the University of Houston Business School with a B.A. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

Mitch believes that balance is the key to life. He’s been happily married to his wife, Michelle, since 2007, and is the proud father of three daughters (Megan, Emily and Sarah) and one son (Noah). He enjoys being involved with youth sports, including coaching youth basketball.

About Jeff Stanley

Jeff Stanley is a Vice President, Wealth Management, Portfolio Management Director, and Financial Advisor for Morgan Stanley.

Jeff is committed to never losing focus on his team’s ultimate pursuit of helping people manage their life savings. (Investment accounts are a top priority for most of his clients; second only to their family.) He continues to earn the trust of clients every day by acting in their best interests, and designing comprehensive, customized financial plans aligned to their objectives and goals. Jeff strives to provide the right solutions for each client to better enable them to handle whatever life may bring them.

Jeff has always been interested in financial investments. In 2007, he turned that interest into a career by becoming a Financial Advisor. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2013 because the firm offers some of the best capabilities in the industry.

As a Financial Advisor, Jeff genuinely cares about the well-being of each client, and enjoys getting to know them as an individual—not just as a client. It’s gratifying to him when he helps a client achieve their aspirations, such as being able to make work an option instead of a necessity.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Jeff attended Anderson High School. He later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Thomas Moore University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a concentration in investment finance.

Jeff and his wife, Stacie, have been married for 13 years, and have seven children together (Juliet, Andie, Eve, David, Thomas, Sadie and Maria). Being a father is important to him. You’ll often find him spending time with his children participating in activities such as fishing, swimming, camping or backpacking.
The Stanley family keeps their faith close to them, and gives back to their community by volunteering at their local parish.

5Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
