My Story and Services

Retirement planning means more than providing you with investment advice. It means helping you maintain the financial independence you’ve worked your entire life to achieve. It means striving to ensure you have the means to pursue what's most important to you. And it means understanding you as an individual with unique goals, values and circumstances that shape the strategies we develop on your behalf.

A Purpose for Every Stage

We designate a specific financial purpose for different stages of your life. When you’re working, it’s important for you to be able to concentrate on what makes you productive, while still spending time with your family and the activities you’re passionate about. During this stage, our purpose is to focus on savings and debt management seeking to ensure you’re financially prepared for retirement.

Once your reach the retirement stage, our purpose is to help ensure you don’t outlive your assets. So, we’ll assist you with important considerations such as balancing income, risk and preservation. We have a well-established process in place for this stage that includes continual asset monitoring, purposeful investing and ongoing communications with you.

Lastly, we’ll focus on your legacy. We’ll develop and implement a seamless plan to take care of those individuals or causes that matter most to you.

Holistic Planning

We believe it’s essential to provide comprehensive planning and financial services to our clients. We offer advice on both sides of your balance sheet, investing and lending. We also embrace your banking needs, including cash management. All of this is important because thoughtful budgeting and planning can potentially lead to better financial outcomes, as well as less stress in your life.

By combining our professional advice with the services provided by one of the nation’s premier wealth management organizations, we help ensure that all components of your financial life work together in harmony for you.

Commitment to You

Our clients’ success is the true barometer for our practice. We never forget that we serve you, and recognize that ultimately you’re in charge. So, we strive to provide a concierge experience that’s built around your needs, lifestyle and priorities.

Additionally, the founding members of our team each have at least 15 years of experience in financial services. We’ve successfully navigated clients through challenging markets and macro events. And since we began our financial careers directly out of college, we’re still young enough to guide you through your retirement.

Our Clients

While we have the experience necessary to advise clients at any stage of their lives, we frequently work with those who are nearing retirement or already retired. This includes individuals from a broad range of backgrounds, such as corporate executives, business owners, entrepreneurs, attorneys, venture capital investors, real estate developers, teachers, firefighters and police officers.

The single most common characteristic our clients share? It’s that they’ve done a good job of saving for their retirement and take this matter seriously.

Working with Us

What can you expect as a new client? Here’s an overview of our process.

Stage #1: We want to know you not only as a client, but as an individual. So, while we’ll ask about your financial picture, we’ll also ask questions about your life. Why are you here? What do you need help with? What keeps you up at night? What are you aspirations? We plan on being your trusted advisor for the long term, so it’s important to have a holistic understanding about you.

Stage #2: We’ll thoroughly review all the information gathered, and assess your current status relative to your objectives and goals. We’ll then present you with a financial roadmap filled with strategies and insights to help you arrive at your destination—while helping minimize your risk along your journey. Questions are encouraged because we want you to feel comfortable and confident about your plan.

Stage #3: Transparency and trust are important to us. So, we’ll discuss all potential fees with you upfront—even those that may not appear on your financial statements, such as mutual fund costs or other often hidden expenses.

Stage #4: Once you agree to move forward, we’ll begin the onboarding process. We’ll walk you through every step of the transition—including opening your account, transferring funds and establishing your Morgan Stanley Online account—and make it easy for you.

Stage #5: We’ll provide ongoing monitoring of your plan to help ensure it stays on track. If any modifications may be necessary, we’ll let you know and explain why. We also urge you to share any new developments in your life—such as shifting priorities, unforeseen expenses or unexpected income demands—that may impact your plan.

Our Philosophy

All aspects of your financial life should work in harmony toward a single objective.

We use a thoughtful, team-based approach in an effort to ensure your assets and liabilities help maximize your family’s long-term net worth, while meeting your current income needs. Over time, fractions of a percentage can mean large sums of money when compounded. We can manage both your assets and your debts efficiently. When you effectively combine a strategy for both assets and liabilities with tax-advantaged ideas, you have a recipe for success.

We invest with a strong emphasis on cash flow into your portfolio. Our goal is to keep the dividend and interest income from your portfolio meaningfully higher than the average dividend of the stock market. This allows the dividend and interest generated within the portfolio to cover most of your income needs while in retirement, allowing for the principal to continue to grow over time.

For individuals who aren’t retired and still in the accumulation phase, this fresh influx of capital into your portfolio can be used in all types of markets to purchase additional shares of high-quality companies.

This approach is important because it’s more predictable than relying only on growth. Additionally, you can generate growth on top of the dividends.
