The Roney Group at Morgan Stanley

Our Mission Statement
Our Story
Through more than four combined decades of working in the wealth management industry, our team has the experience in managing the high-net worth financial lives of individuals, families, and corporations. We are a five-person group, led by financial advisors Gary Roney, Allison Brill, and Dylan Wong and supported by associates Terry Hagerman and Michele Mendiola. As of 2025, we oversee $985MM+ in client assets for a variety of clients: celebrities, professional sports athletes, physicians, business owners, and C-suite executives. We understand the myriad of complex questions that arise when dealing with considerable wealth. Our goal is to simplify this by applying a goals-based financial plan and institutional level of portfolio management. As your assets and liabilities grow, we offer a devoted team of professionals to deliver a powerful combination of knowledge, skills, and experience.
Whether your priority is achieving financial independence, maintaining your standard of living in retirement, or leaving a meaningful legacy, we work closely with you to develop a financial plan focused clearly on you and your family. Your life goals and financial objectives are the drivers of our conversations, and we work diligently to executive on all parts of your financial life so that you can spend more time what you love doing.
Our process to help you grow, preserve, and pass on your wealth starts by gaining a deep understanding of a client’s respective intentions and aspirations. We begin by talking to you about your family, line of work, lifestyle expectations, attitudes towards investing, and risk tolerance. We then define a clear path to help achieve those goals by managing both sides of your balance sheet and bringing in Morgan Stanley specialists for more unique situations. Our suite of services is expansive and we’d like our clients to have the confidence and comfort of working in a family office style atmosphere. Gary, Allison, and Dylan invite you to learn more and discover your wealth’s true potential at The Roney Group.

Meet The Roney Group
About Gary Roney
Today, Gary’s colleague and business partner is financial advisor Allison Brill. Allison is Gary’s daughter, and they have worked together for over a decade. Most recently, Gary and Alli have decided to bring on Dylan Wong, the team's newest advisor and partner. With this addition, they only hope to bring more innovative solutions to their clients while enhancing their true standard of care: a client-focused service model.
Together, Gary, Allison, and Dylan have built a thriving practice that consists of both individual and institutional investors, which include families, businesses, and corporations. Their clients include some of the nation’s most esteemed business executives, entrepreneurs, physicians, attorneys, athletes, and celebrities. The Roney Group is highly focused on multi-generational wealth planning, getting to know their clients on an extremely personal level so that they may serve their needs throughout all life stages. All three financial advisors are ably supported by their long-tenured team of associates, Terry Hagerman and Michele Mendiola.
Gary holds a number of distinguished titles. He is a Family Wealth Director, a certification achieved by no more than 4% of financial advisors, Corporate Retirement Director, Sports and Entertainment Director, Executive Financial Services Director, and Senior Portfolio Manager. Gary is also an Executive Director of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley. Furthermore, he has achieved the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) degree from the prestigious Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1998 and held it until 2000. He also actively holds the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist Designation (CRPS®).
Today, Gary spends much of his free time with his family and friends. He and his wife Debbie are approaching their 40th year of marriage this year and in addition to his daughter Allison, has an older daughter named Melissa as well as three grandchildren. Gary is also an active golfer and enjoys following many other sports. He is originally from New York, but he has happily found his home in sunny Orange County where his loved ones and closest clients reside.

When Morgan Stanley provides investment education, takes orders on an unsolicited basis or otherwise does not provide “investment advice”, Morgan Stanley will not be considered a “fiduciary” under ERISA and/or the Code. 8Alternative Investments are speculative and include a high degree of risk. An investor could lose all or a substantial amount of his/her investment. Alternative investments are appropriate only for qualified, long-term investors who are willing to forgo liquidity and put capital at risk for an indefinite period of time.
9The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.

These risks can include but are not limited to: fluctuations in the price, level or yield of underlying asset(s), interest rates, currency values and credit quality, substantial loss of principal, limits on participation in appreciation of underlying asset(s), limited liquidity, credit risk, and/or conflicts of interest. Many structured investments do not pay interest or guarantee a return above principal at maturity. Investors should read the security’s offering documentation prior to making an investment decision.
