Second-Opinion Service
Working with a team that redefines wealth management
Ask ten people to define wealth management. Actually, ask ten wealth managers to do so. You will almost certainly get ten different answers, with most heavily focused on investing. As a client of the Pacific Hyperion Group, however, you benefit from a team that has a clear and comprehensive vision of wealth management.
Our consultative process via phone or virtual meeting
We approach each new engagement with our consultative process. This allows us to have an open dialogue in which we learn about every client's values and goals while working with them to tailor a plan to help achieve them. Through our second-opinion service you can experience our five step process with no obligation.
What to expect from our second-opinion service
We will meet with you in person or if you prefer via a virtual meeting from the comfort of your own home for a Discovery Meeting. Assuming that we both agree that we have a basis for working together, we will get together for the mutual commitment meeting. During this visit we will confirm if you are on track to fulfill your values and achieve your goals with your current financial provider. If needed, we will suggest ways in which we can help, including recommending another provider if we are not a good fit for your needs. Either way, you will receive a Total Client Profile and a personalized analysis of your current situation.

About Mitch Sauberman

“Let’s make it a good day.”

Mitch has worked as a financial advisor for 38 years, and he is as passionate about helping people achieve their financial goals today as he was on the day he started in the business. He treats his clients like family and uses his experience and insight to help them navigate through different life phases in pursuit of their financial goals.

Mitch believes that reaching the age of 80 is both an honor and an achievement. He works to not only maximize his clients’ return on investment, but also their return on time. Through the team’s comprehensive financial planning and investment process, he sets his clients up to enjoy as much freedom as possible to live the life they’ve dreamed of in retirement.

Lifelong learning and continual improvement have always been priorities for Mitch. He attended Diablo Valley College and was a member of their basketball team before earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Sacramento State University. He continued his education and received the CIMA (Certified Investment Management Analyst) designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Mitch has enjoyed being involved in his local community as a volunteer basketball coach for CYO and is also a Leadership Contra Costa alumnus. Mitch is married with two children. On weekends, you’ll likely find Mitch and his wife out enjoying live music, which seems appropriate since both their children are involved in the arts. Their daughter is a sophomore at NYU School of Fine Arts and a gifted vocalist. Their son is a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mitch enjoys spending time with family, golf and long runs with his dog, Jovie.

About Erik Swoope

“Life begins when you become a part of something greater than yourself.”

Erik Swoope is a native Californian. He attended Harvard-Westlake School in Studio City where he set out to build a foundation of grit, leadership and dedication that would serve him throughout his life. It’s also where he first learned to harness all his abilities in his quest for continual growth. During his time there, he played basketball and was recently inducted into his high school Sports Hall of Fame.

Erik didn’t just play basketball at Harvard-Westlake - he also earned a full scholarship to play basketball for the University of Miami. During his tenure at the U, Erik was part of the first team in school history to win the regular season ACC, the ACC Tournament and they made it to “March Madness” and advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen.

After graduating with a degree in Economics, Erik’s life took an unexpected turn when he had an opportunity to play in the NFL. Erik spent the next four years playing Tight End for the Indianapolis Colts, despite having no prior experience in the sport at any level. Before his NFL career was over, he did stints with both the Las Vegas Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers.

Following his time in the NFL, Erik participated in Harvard Business School’s Crossover Into Business program designed specifically for professional athletes. Students in the program are paired with Harvard Business School’s MBA student mentors to develop their business acumen and learn to make better business decisions using the Harvard Business School case method. Additionally, Erik attended the Black Venture Institute Program hosted by the Berkeley Haas School of Business in partnership with Berkeley Executive Education.

Erik acquired his passion for finance while in the NFL. He watched many of his teammates who’d never had experience with money struggle to navigate the complexities of newfound wealth. He watched others make wise decisions with money and spent a great deal of time working to understand investor psychology.

Erik is driven to help people chart and follow a financial path to their dreams. He is also a gifted public speaker and quite tech savvy. Erik is newly married - still loves sports, as well as yoga, his cats, and horse.
