About Matthew McCarville
Having completed a 23 year career as an Army officer, Matt McCarville became a Financial Advisor in 2004. Matt works with reasonably affluent families, mostly senior military, both active and retired, helping to develop and implement financial plans to help achieve their goals. He emphasizes risk management strategies. Matt joined Morgan Stanley in 2011, and moved his practice to Honolulu in 2013.
Matt is a 1981 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and holds an MA in Human Resources from Webster University. His military education includes the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Both Airborne and Ranger qualified, Matt was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge for his service with Special Operations in Desert Storm.
Matt is engaged in helping to make our communities stronger. He is dedicated to supporting our wounded and their families, and the families of our fallen. Matt received the Daniel K. Inouye Leadership and Community Service Award for his work as the Co-Chair of the Na Koa Wounded Warrior Canoe Regatta 2014-2019. He is a lifetime member of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA), the VFW, and the U.S. Military Academy’s Association of Graduates.
Matt and his wife, Karen, live in Hawaii Kai, HI. Their son, Matthew, is an Investment Banking Executive Director with JP Morgan in San Francisco. Their daughter, Dr. Caitlin Mohr, is a Classical Singer, and Assistant Professor of Music at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida.
