Meet The Madison Group

About Phil McCauley III

Phil started his investment career in 1990, offering a wide range of investment products and services to individual and corporate clients. In 1998, he decided to focus exclusively on providing investment management to long-term-minded individuals and their families. Seeing opportunities to add value for clients beyond investing, Phil set out to build a team with the mission of providing the full range of wealth management services to client families. The team was named The Madison Group in honor of Phil's grandfather, a banker who was recognized by the Madison Courier as the person who made the greatest contribution to the Madison community in the twentieth century.

The Madison Group has grown into a team of 12 professionals, each with different responsibilities and all sharing a commitment to excellence in client service. Phil continues to focus on building high-quality portfolios designed to provide tax-efficient wealth compounding. While the investment principles he learned from mentors more than thirty years ago serve as the foundation of his philosophy, The Madison Group’s wealth building process continues to evolve with the economy and investment environment.

Phil earned a BA degree in economics from DePauw University and is a CFA charter holder. He has been named a top financial advisor by both Forbes and Barron’s. Phil serves on the Trinity Foundation Board and lives in Louisville, KY with his wife Marie. They have three sons, the oldest two, Nathan and Phil 4, are members of the Madison Group. Marie and Phil enjoy traveling and spending time with their granddaughters, Nora and Sylvia, who call Phil “Poppy”.
