About Donald I Levy

Donald I. Levy
Senior Vice President – Wealth Management
Family Wealth Director
Senior Portfolio Management Director
Senior Investment Management Consultant
Financial Planning Specialist
Financial Advisor

Donald looks back on his more than 45-year financial services career and takes great pride in the fact that he has helped numerous people live better lives. Clients who spent several productive and enjoyable decades in retirement without fear of outliving their assets, for example. Or families who sought his advice on how to leave a substantial legacy without excessive taxation or worry among heirs.

Donald’s early training as a CPA provided him with insights that have proven valuable to his clients over the years. More recently, he became one of only a relatively few Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors to earn the firm’s Family Wealth Director designation, a credential that further enhances his ability to advise high net worth clients on complex financial issues.

A former CFO at the US affiliate of a multi-national corporation, Donald joined a Morgan Stanley predecessor firm in 1989 and co-founded the former Levy Wealth Management Group with his brother, retired Financial Advisor, Leonard. Until August 2024, Donald ran the team along with his daughter and partner, Financial Advisor, Judith Battaglia. Together they joined The Maddalena Group in September of 2024. Donald spends much of his time managing the investment strategy he created that seeks total return through such income-oriented vehicles as dividend stocks, master limited partnerships and real estate investment trusts. Many of his clients have been able to generate income through this strategy that has enabled them to meet their cash flow needs without liquidating holdings.

Don graduated from Queens College with a BA in Accounting. Outside the office, he served as Chief Financial Officer at his synagogue, Temple Beth El in Chappaqua, NY. In addition, he supports several charitable organizations in which his clients are involved. It is their involvement that gives him confidence that these organizations are well run and performing good works for the communities they serve.

About Judith Battaglia

Judy grew up in the financial services industry. For over 16 years, Judy has partnered with her father, Donald Levy, one of the founders of the former Levy Wealth Management Group at Morgan Stanley. In a transformative new chapter starting in September 2024, Judy, Donald and Jacqui Clowry, Portfolio Associate, joined with the Maddalena Group at Morgan Stanley, combining the experience and personalized approach of both teams to deliver even greater value to their clients.

Judy is a Morgan Stanley Senior Portfolio Management Director who co-manages several of the team’s equity portfolios seeking growth and income (total return) through ownership of individual stocks, indexes and income securities encompassing thematic diversification. We provide clients with discretionary investment management that relieves them of day-to-day investment decisions. In addition, Judy is a Certified Financial Planner®, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® and a Morgan Stanley-credentialed Financial Planning Specialist who plays a key role in all aspects of client’s financial planning.

Prior to following in her father’s footsteps, Judy embarked on her own journey as a nurse, nurse practitioner and later, a clinical liaison between several well-known biotech firms and their physician and nursing clientele. When she finally joined the former Levy Wealth Management Group in 2008, she realized that there were significant parallels between the patient care evaluation and the wealth management process. Both involve assessment, strategy implementation and ongoing evaluation. Through this lens, Judy takes a holistic view of clients’ finances to create strategies that work in concert toward even their most challenging goals of growth and cash flow.

A graduate of The University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Nursing, Judy went on to earn her MS in Nursing with an emphasis on oncology and nursing administration. Judy currently resides in Pleasantville, NY with her husband and two teen-age daughters.
