Our Mission Statement
We are the brother-sister team of Charles Kerl and Alix Magner.
We help smart, busy, successful professionals – many in tech – align their money with their values.
Most have already achieved big things with even bigger goals for the future. They look to us to provide financial planning around complex compensation (including ISOs, RSUs, and all the other crazy acronyms), as well as sustainable strategies to help provide a clear path to success.

Like Most of our clients, you are smart, busy, and successful
You probably work in a leadership role at a dynamic, disruptive, or transformative company. It's no surprise that you have neither the time nor mental energy to properly manage your increasingly complex finances. Your career and/or family fully consume those resources.
You've always had a pretty good understanding of your finances, but in the midst of balancing work, family, and personal life, you're overwhelmed.
You're wondering…
- Am I saving the right amount of money in the right places?
- Am I making the best decisions about turning my company equity into something I can enjoy?
- When can I afford to leave my company, and how should I plan for that?
- Why did I pay so much in taxes last year? How can I reduce what I owe this year and into the future?
- As complicated as my situation is, am I missing anything?
Who We Serve
- We are based in San Francisco and Minneapolis and collaborate with clients across the country. We most frequently work with tech professionals, early employees, and corporate executives.

You may be asking yourself:
• How well do I understand my equity compensation and the strategies that exist to maximize its value?
• Am I being as smart as my managers and coworkers with my equity compensation? Should I be making different choices based on my specific situation?
• How do I turn my company equity into something I can enjoy?
• Can I afford to leave my company, and how should I plan for that?
• What the heck is the Alternative Minimum Tax?

1The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
