Meet The Johnston Team

About Me

Frank is a Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, and Financial Advisor with The Johnston Team at Morgan Stanley. He prides himself on the relationships he fosters with clients, helping them feel financially secure through both the ups and downs of life. Having a partner—his son, Zach—who he trusts and has confidence in to do this job, he says, allows their team to build for the long term.

Frank believes successful people all share a common bond: They encounter important life events that require timely guidance to help them make the right financial decisions for themselves, their careers, and their families. Through a comprehensive financial plan and portfolio management, he helps them achieve their goals while managing risk.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Frank began his career at Smith Barney and went on to work at RBC Wealth Management. He has recently joined Morgan Stanley, confident that the firm’s abundance of resources and innovative solutions best serve his team’s clients.

Today, Frank’s primary responsibilities continue to focus on financial planning and portfolio strategy and management. He helps each client develop and implement their strategies, while regularly checking in on their progress toward each goal. Frank receives great satisfaction knowing he is helping to make a significant impact on the quality of his clients’ lives and often becomes one of their most important relationships.

Frank has been married for 41 years to his wife, Kathleen. The couple takes great pleasure in spending time with and caring for their grandchildren Dash and Emery. Outside of the office, Frank also spends his time as head coach of the boys’ tennis team at Sheldon High School, enjoying and fostering the young gentlemen’s respect for each other and for the game.
