At the JLD Group at Morgan Stanley, we specialize in helping our clients create a plan for before, during, and post retirement. Being able to retire comfortably and meet your income needs is a primary goal for many clients and we are able to help you achieve this goal.
Before Retirement
Before retirement you are focused on earning and investing enough funds to be able to retire. We are able to help craft a tailored financial plan with this goal in mind. Whether you are changing jobs, or looking to move funds, we are able to handle all of your rollover needs. We are then able to manage these assets and integrate your company’s retirement plan into our overall strategy to make sure you are on track throughout this process.
During Retirement
When you have made it to this stage, Congratulations! You have been able to acquire enough assets to be able to retire from your job and focus on friends, family, hobbies, travel, etc. However, the work with your finances does not end here. As we continue to manage your assets, we look further than asset protection and growth. With our expertise and some of the technology Morgan Stanley has to offer, we are able to make sure you pull an income efficiently from your investment accounts to live off of. By making sure we optimize your withdrawal strategy, we can help mitigate tax consequences as well as not sacrifice long term growth of your portfolio.
After Retirement
After you have lived a long fruitful life, you start to look to what you are leaving behind. Many of our clients want to make sure their family is taken care of as well as leave a lasting legacy. We are able to coordinate with you estate attorneys and work alongside you to make sure your hard earned wealth passes to the next generation. We also work with your heirs to ensure they have the financial literacy needed to maintain your wealth. We will also help with any charitable giving and gifting goals you may have to make sure that your wealth transfers according to your needs and goals.

About Brooks Laquey

I bring more than 40 years of financial experience to the service of my clients. As a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick, I helped clients minimize the impact of taxes on their retirement income and estates. I joined Morgan Stanley in 1999 and earned two important designations – Certified Investment Management Analyst and Senior Portfolio Manager – that provide me with the credentials to help clients manage their assets and select carefully researched third party managers to relieve them of day-to-day investment decisions.

My clients include high net worth individuals and their families who are concerned about preserving and growing the assets they’ve accumulated over the course of their lifetimes. Beyond investing, I provide my clients with comprehensive financial plans that help to enable them to pursue their financial goals without losing focus on their career, family or other aspects of their lives they hold most dear.

A native Texan, I grew up in Dallas and graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Business and Public Administration. Outside the office, I am deeply involved in my Church and several Christian ministries, including Life Outreach International. In addition, I’ve supported numerous charities over the years that minister to orphans. My wife and I live in Frisco, Texas where we raised our two sons, both of whom were adopted from St. Petersburg, Russia, and spend as much time as possible with our fourteen year old grandson.
