My Mission Statement
Helping you pursue your own lifes mission with complete financial confidence
My Story
If you’re like most of my clients, you have bigger life goals than beating a market index with your investment portfolio. You are concerned with advancing your career, building a business, taking care of your family or maybe giving back to your community. Finances, while important, are not your primary day-to-day focus.
That’s where I can be of service.
For more than 40 years, I’ve helped clients and their families manage both sides of their personal balance sheets with strategies that encompass not only their investments, but virtually every aspect of their financial lives. My Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) and Senior Investment Management Consultant designations provide me with the credentials to help you navigate today’s fast moving financial markets in pursuit of your most important goals. In addition, my fifteen years as a CPA with a major accounting and consulting firm (I do not currently give tax advice) have given me the knowledge and experience to help you meet even your most financial planning challenges.

Working With You
What’s most important to you and what do you perceive might be standing in your way? How do you view money and what values to you wish to pass on to your children? Who are you as a person, not just an investor?
These are the questions for which I need answers before I make any recommendations for allocating your investments and enhancing your financial life. As a result, I generally work with clients as follows:
• Our relationship begins with in-depth conversations about your life’s goals and financial concerns. We’ll take a total inventory of your finances, including not only investments, but insurance, real estate and outstanding or expected debt. We’ll also meet with your children or other family members, if you wish, to gain additional insight and make certain they’re on board with the strategies we eventually implement.
• We access the extensive resources of Morgan Stanley to create a customized financial plan that articulates your priorities and contains tangible recommendations for fulfilling them.
• We implement your plan with a personalized asset allocation to meet your risk tolerance, timeframe and objectives. Your portfolio may contain carefully researched and selected mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, separately managed accounts, closed-end funds and alternative investments. In addition, we have the ability to consult with specialists in disciplines as diverse as insurance, lending and estate planning to help you manage your overall wealth.
• We monitor your progress and make adjustments as changing life circumstances and market conditions warrant.

Philip Brooks Laquey
Senior Vice President
Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®)
Senior Investment Management Consultant
Wealth Advisor
I bring more than 40 years of financial experience to the service of my clients. As a CPA with KPMG Peat Marwick, I helped clients minimize the impact of taxes on their retirement income and estates. I joined Morgan Stanley in 1999 and earned two important designations – Certified Investment Management Analyst and Senior Portfolio Manager – that provide me with the credentials to help clients manage their assets and select carefully researched third party managers to relieve them of day-to-day investment decisions. I was named as one of the top wealth advisors in Texas for 2021 2022, and 2023 according to Forbes.
My clients include high net worth individuals and their families who are concerned about preserving and growing the assets they’ve accumulated over the course of their lifetimes. Beyond investing, I provide my clients with comprehensive financial plans that help to enable them to pursue their financial goals without losing focus on their career, family or other aspects of their lives they hold most dear.
A native Texan, I grew up in Dallas and graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a BS in Business and Public Administration. Outside the office, I am deeply involved in my Church and several Christian ministries, including Life Outreach International. In addition, I’ve supported numerous charities over the years that minister to orphans. My wife and I live in Frisco, Texas where we raised our two sons, both of whom were adopted from St. Petersburg, Russia, and spend as much time as possible with our thirteen-year-old grandson.

My Clients
The people who look to me for financial guidance have worked their entire lives to accumulate wealth. They don’t expect me to make them affluent, but they do expect me to help them stay that way.
As you might guess, my approach with all these clients emphasizes preservation of assets and growth without excessive risk. I strive to help my clients withstand adverse market conditions that can erode the wealth they’ve worked so hard to attain.
