About Seth Coren
Seth Coren, CFP® has been at Morgan Stanley for 27 years, and has earned the titles of Managing Director, Private Wealth Advisor, as well as Family Wealth Director. Seth is the leading Private Wealth Advisor on a team of professionals who advises both private clients and institutions. The private wealth team has decades of experience advising those of significant financial means address the complex challenges of managing their wealth. The team is strategically focused on the intersection of Wealth Management and the Workplace, working closely with team Institutional Consulting lead, Todd Gutkin, CRPS®, to design executive engagement programs to help deliver elevated MSWM educational content, support, and resources to our corporate clients.
Seth and team have received numerous national recognitions for their achievements, including Forbes and Barron’s. In recognition of his experience, Seth has frequently been invited to share his perspectives on wealth management topics with both Morgan Stanley colleagues and industry peers. The team includes five CFP® professionals, two CFA charter holders, two Corporate Retirement Directors, and four Chartered Retirement Plan Specialists.
In recent years, Seth has reconnected with his passion for bridging Japan and US relations, leaning into the Strategic Alliance between Morgan Stanley and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) MUFG and Morgan Stanley Enhance Global Strategic Alliance | Morgan Stanley. Since 2017, he has represented Morgan Stanley Wealth Management at six education sessions in Japan for Financial Advisors at Morgan Stanley affiliates. Seth’s experience in Japan has created a rare niche for team in the Japanese client segment, with bilingual/bicultural support for Morgan Stanley’s full offering to both Private Wealth and corporate clients. The team includes three Japanese speakers.
Seth holds a B.A. from Duke University in Comparative Area Studies and a minor in Japanese. He played two years of club baseball at Duke and participated in three NCAA wrestling matches in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Seth served as President of PSLL-NYC from 2017-2023, offering year-round baseball and softball programming to over 600 children on the East Side of Manhattan-- a community institution since 1956. In 2021, Seth was recognized for his stewardship by industry non-profit Invest in Others, Inc., specifically for his significant expansion of girls’ softball programming and dedication to Little League’s Challenger Division, for participants of all abilities.
In New York, he frequently represents Morgan Stanley at Japan Society, the nation’s premier institution for connecting Japanese arts, culture, and business to a US audience. The 2025 ‘Summer of Ichiro’ created unique opportunities to highlight baseball as a critical force in US-Japan diplomacy, culminating with the launch of the Yakyu Baseball exhibit in Cooperstown, NY at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. As a proud supporter of the exhibit, Seth is (temporarily) ‘enshrined’ near Babe Ruth at the exhibit.
