About Joan M Fiore

Through my 38 years of experience as a Wealth Advisor and Certified Financial Planner, and from working in my father’s business as a child, I acquired a strong work ethic and developed a keen awareness of the importance of becoming financially independent.

My first job after graduating from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration was in the insurance industry. I then joined Shearson Lehman Brothers in 1983 as a financial advisor, and through various mergers what was once Shearson Lehman became Morgan Stanley.

Over the years, I have worked to develop a reputation of trust, intuition, and accomplishment, by working closely with clients helping them face a variety of financial challenges. My clients include multigenerational families, businesses, and institutions such as endowments, foundations, and fraternal insurance companies. The work I do for my clients can range from designing income strategies for retirees and dealing with challenging life transitions such as divorce, to helping institutions preserve and grow their investment portfolios.

In almost four decades of helping clients through multiple bear markets, I’ve gained the wisdom to understand that while we can’t predict which way a market will go, we can take advantage of investment strategies and professional portfolio management that can potentially minimize volatility and risk.

As a Certified Financial Planner, I am a member of the Association of Professional Investment Consultants. I am also a member of the Investments and Wealth Institute where I earned the coveted Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation.

When not helping clients, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and serving my community. Currently, I serve on the boards of St. Lucy’s Auxiliary to the Blind and Bishop Canevin High School. Additionally, I am the chairperson of the Children’s Hospital Drive for the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh, a city I am proud to call home.
