Our founder, Philip Hoang brings over 20 years of experience across hedge funds, investment banking, and private advisory. He has advised leaders through every phase of growth – from three-person start-ups to publicly traded companies with over 15,000 employees.

Under, Executive Services, he and his team of financial advisors, Riley Krook and Hoang Luu, focus on pre-IPO planning, concentrated equity diversification, post-IPO volatility and open-window management strategies. He is designated by the firm as an Executive Financial Services Director to specifically work with company executives and supporting SEC Rule 10b5-1 trading for the company allowing executives to manage the challenge of creating liquidity while being subject to material non-public information.

As a designated Family Wealth Director he works with Ultra High Net Worth clients to help manage their multifaceted affairs, focusing not on financial capital, but also human, social, and intellectual capital. In this area, he focuses on family governance, estate planning, ownership transfer and philanthropy strategies while leveraging Morgan Stanley's UHNW services.

Meet The EverKin Group

About Philip Hoang

Drawing on over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, Philip Hoang works with affluent families and individuals to create highly customized wealth management solutions based on their needs, goals and challenges. He and his portfolio management team are responsible for directly managing $1 billion in client assets through equity and fixed income portfolios as well as overseeing $2 billion in assets managed by hedge funds, fund of funds, and private equity funds.
Between 2010 and 2013 he led Menlo Park's 3rd party manager research efforts to allocate over $20 billion of client assets to investment managers. For his work, he was recognized as Morgan Stanley's Western Division Analyst of the Year. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2010, Philip worked as an investment banker for a boutique investment bank in New York, where he led equity and asset based financing solutions. He began his career a biotech analyst for a hedge fund based in San Francisco. 
Philip graduated from the University of California with a B.S. in Engineering. He is originally from San Jose and in his spare time works closely with programs which provide vital services to youth particularly in Menlo Park.

About Riley Krook

Riley grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area before attending and graduating from the University of Oregon. Returning to the Silicon Valley, he joined Morgan Stanley as a financial planner to help clients create comprehensive financial plans for their families. In addition to family planning, Riley is part of a group of advisors at Morgan Stanley dedicated to working closely with clients with concentrated stock positions to advise on tax strategies, estate planning and efficient diversification.

About Buddy Wolf

Buddy is a Bay Area native originally from San Bruno.

In pursuit of a career in wealth management he joined a cash management vocational training program at Wells Fargo where he started as a bank teller and developed his repertoire of knowledge in cash management and funds movement. He was promoted to banker before eventually becoming a manager supporting household operations for Wells Fargo’s high net worth clients.

Buddy’s experience led him to be recruited to Morgan Stanley in 2017 where he guided a team of client service personnel to support wealth management practices focusing on international and west coast high net worth families. He was recruited to work with Philip and the Everkin Group to leverage over a decade of experience supporting family financial operations.

In his spare time, he and his partner enjoy working on the home they purchased during the pandemic, exploring California’s vineyards with Kira, their adopted Shiba Inu.

About Carmen Chen

Carmen joined EverKin Group as a Wealth Management Associate in July 2023. Born in Guangdong, China, Carmen is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese. She moved to the San Francisco Bay Area with her family in 2010.

Carmen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business & Finance with a Minor in International Affairs from Northeastern University. She also spent a year studying abroad in Ireland and China.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Carmen was a Registered Client Associate at UBS, where she specialized in working with International APAC UHNW clients. During her two years at UBS, Carmen assisted one of the top producing Financial Advisors in the International Complex, ensuring the smooth execution of operational tasks, conducting research, and managing special projects.

Beyond her work in wealth management, Carmen showcases an entrepreneurial spirit. She collaborated with friends to launch a business centered around hosting track days and building racing simulators. Outside work, Carmen enjoys staying active through skiing, golf, and ashtanga yoga. She cherishes quality time with family and friends and loves to explore new cultures through travel and food from around the world.
