Our Story

The surname "Edwards" traces its origin back to England in 900 a.d. The root words that comprise the name are "ead" and "ward." "Ead" means prosperity and fortune and "ward" means guardian and protector. Centuries later, our team prides itself on embracing our namesake as we strive to be "guardians of prosperity." Serving as your financial guardian involves helping you build, preserve, and distribute wealth. To achieve these ends, we guide you through the process of consolidating assets, building comprehensive financial plans, developing appropriate asset allocations, and adjusting your plan throughout your lifetime. As the old English proverb goes, "In time of prosperity friends will be plenty; In time of adversity not one in twenty." Our commitment is to be with you as the guardians of your prosperity through good times and bad for this generation and the next.

Our Process

We will work together using a process that focuses on you and your goals, integrating investment decisions with pressing financial needs and desired aspirations. Moreover, we will support you and your strategy with the resources and perspective of one of the world’s largest financial firms.
  • Charting a prudent course to financial independence requires a well-conceived personalized financial plan with defined long-term goals. Our consultative wealth advisory process was developed to help generate that plan. Its key steps are designed to result in a broad, cohesive plan for your financial future.
  • 1. Discover
We will begin by discussing what matters most to you and what you want to accomplish with your wealth. In addition to your finances and investments, we will talk about you, your values, lifestyle, your worries and what you are passionate about.
  • 2. Analyze
We will analyze your personal and financial information, assess risks, and identify potential threats to your financial health. Then we will present you with a comprehensive plan to help address your income and cash flow needs, borrowing requirements, asset preservation strategies, retirement planning, wealth transfer and philanthropy goals.
  • 3. Implement
Our objective approach to implementing your plan will pay attention to how its various aspects can affect, help enhance and integrate with each other. When appropriate, we will suggest seeking additional in-depth advice on particularly complex planning, financial and family issues we have identified.
  • 4. Review
We will review your portfolio together at your request. And when your circumstances change, we will work with you to revise your strategy and reposition your assets to reflect your new needs and goals.

The Edwards Group acts in your best interest by providing strategies that are aligned with your unique investment objectives. Our team’s world-class resources seek to deliver beyond traditional consulting to provide a holistic approach to managing your retirement plan.
  • Your Duty as a Fiduciary
Recently, it has become more complex managing a Corporate Retirement Plan such as a 401(k), 403(B), or Cash Balance. A number of responsibilities fall upon the plan sponsor –from investment management and fee analysis, to documenting fiduciary processes, to working with the recordkeeper – with the intention of helping their employees prepare for retirement. The Edwards Group promotes plan sponsor engagement and education to help empower you to make confident and informed decisions about your retirement plan now and in the future.
  • Our Comprehensive Approach
Our tailored consulting and management of your Corporate Retirement Plan provides an end-to-end process that can be of benefit to the plan sponsor and employees alike including: plan management and risk mitigation, investment management, expense and service provider oversight, and employee engagement through production and delivery of an employee education plan. Our team is positioned to help you review your plan’s investment policy statement, select and review investments, evaluate service providers, prepare benchmarking reports and share best practices. Additionally, our robust investment options at Morgan Stanley allow us to work to help improve outcomes for retirement for your employees while helping the business maintain and adhere to industry standards.
