Our Story and Services

Hello, and welcome to The Corbet Group! We are a multigenerational advisory team priding ourselves on a personalized approach towards wealth management and portfolio management.

Maggie Corbet, the senior partner on our team, has been a part of the industry for over 40 years, following in the footsteps of her father Jubb and his father before him. In total, Maggie has followed a path of four generations of Corbet's in the business.

Rich Corbet, the junior partner on our team, recently joined the group in 2022 after working for E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley. Rich has always been fascinated by money and capital markets, knowing from day one he wanted to pursue a career as a financial advisor.

Both of us were born and raised in North New Jersey, spending summers down in the Jersey Shore. Since then, we have moved to Fort Lauderdale but still frequently go back to New Jersey to spend time with family.

We hope that our website will give you a detailed understanding of how we work together with our clients to achieve their financial goals, and also provide clarity on the various services we offer to our clients every day. We are excited to meet you!

Our Portfolio Management Strategy

Tab Image
At its core, our investment philosophy as a bottom-up value security selector revolves around the fundamental analysis of individual companies to identify undervalued stocks with strong growth potential. Here are the key principles that guide our investment strategy:
Fundamental Analysis
We firmly believe in conducting thorough fundamental analysis of individual companies before making investment decisions. This involves studying a company's financial statements, analyzing its competitive position, assessing its management team, and evaluating its growth prospects. By focusing on the intrinsic value of a company, We aim to identify stocks that are trading below their true worth.
Value Investing
As a value investor, We seek to identify stocks that are trading at a discount to their intrinsic value. We search for companies that have solid financials, stable cash flows, and strong balance sheets, yet are undervalued by the market due to temporary setbacks, negative sentiment, or underappreciated growth potential. We look for a margin of safety, aiming to purchase stocks at prices significantly below their intrinsic value to mitigate downside risks.
Bottom-Up Approach
We adopt a bottom-up approach, emphasizing the analysis of individual companies rather than relying heavily on macroeconomic factors or market trends. By scrutinizing each company's financials, competitive advantages, industry dynamics, and growth prospects, We strive to find stocks with the potential for long-term value creation. We believe that thorough research on individual companies can uncover hidden gems that may be overlooked by the broader market.
Long-Term Perspective
We maintain a long-term investment horizon and avoid being swayed by short-term market fluctuations or noise. We recognize that stock prices can be volatile in the short term but tend to reflect a company's true value over the long run. By holding investments for an extended period, We aim to capture the full value potential of the companies we invest in and benefit from compounding returns.
Risk Management
While searching for undervalued stocks, we also focus on risk management. We diversify my portfolio across sectors and industries to reduce exposure to any single company or market segment. We closely monitor the progress and performance of my investments and consider appropriate exit strategies if the investment thesis no longer holds or if the stock has reached its intrinsic value.
Continuous Learning
The investment landscape is ever-evolving, and We understand the importance of continuous learning and staying updated with market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies. By expanding our knowledge and skills, We aim to make informed investment decisions and adapt to changing market conditions.

8Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan.
