About Rick Grimshaw

Rick has been with Morgan Stanley and its predecessor firms since 2004, and in the investment profession since 1983. He is a Senior Vice President, Senior Portfolio Management Director and served as Branch Manager of two Portland-area Morgan Stanley branch offices from 2011-2014. He holds the Certified Portfolio Manager® and Certified Investment Management AnalystSM professional designations. Rick is a native of Portland, Oregon and received B.A. degrees from the University of Oregon in Communications and Management. He is active in the Oregon Executives Association and served as Treasurer for the Episcopal Diocese of Western Oregon, 2019-2022. He was also awarded the Bill Eager Award, as 2013 Portfolio Manager of the Year, by the Portfolio Management Institute®, and was the organization’s President in 2010-11. Rick is also a proud Eagle Scout.

Rick lives in West Linn, Oregon with his wife Vickie, a self-employed jewelry designer. They have two children, Bryan and Katie. Bryan graduated from Eastern Oregon University in 2009 and is a self-employed contractor in La Grande, Oregon. Katie graduated from Portland State University in 2013 and works in global brand marketing. They have been blessed with three grandchildren! Rick and Vickie enjoy time away on the Oregon Coast, where he keeps his fully restored, 1943 Willys MB Military Jeep, inherited from his grandfather. As part of the Morgan Stanley Core Value of “Giving Back”, Rick and Vickie actively support the Oregon Historical Society, Lakewood Center for the Arts, the University of Oregon Foundation, Oregon Public Broadcasting, the Episcopal Church Foundation and the Morgan Stanley Foundation; all via regular giving.

About D. Mike Collins

Mike has been with Morgan Stanley and its predecessors since March, 2004 and in the financial services industry since December, 1998. He is a long time native of Portland, Oregon and received his B.A. degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Oregon.

Mike and his wife, Leann, are high school sweethearts and have been married going on 37 years. They live on 20 acres up in the woods of Washougal, Washington. They have six grown children and nine grandchildren with more on the way! Leann manages their real estate holdings, while Mike serves the local community as an active-duty volunteer Fireman and Emergency Medical Technician with Skamania County Fire District #4. Both he and Leann are active members of Gateway Community Church, and love to do all things outdoors.

Jack graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Business Administration and a focus in Finance. He joined Morgan Stanley in 2013 as a Wealth Advisory Associate, a position focused on helping to create comprehensive financial plans for clients. Now a Financial Advisor, he is using that knowledge to help the Team’s clients in the planning process.

Jack and his wife, Katie, live in Milwaukie, Oregon. They are proud parents of James, who will celebrate his second birthday in March. They enjoy live music, going to the park, hiking and travelling. Jack attained his Certified Financial Planner, CFP® designation in October of 2020. Jack enjoys cycling and is a competitive bowler, competing weekly in a league and tournaments around the Metro area. He is on the Board of Directors of Oregon Executives Association, the oldest networking group in Portland.

About Will Williams

Will joined Morgan Stanley in February 2020 with over 10 years of experience in the financial services field. He has always had a passion for working in finance. Will graduated from the California State University in San Marcos with a degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance. In 2010, while still in college, he started in the financial services industry by working part-time at Moffat Financial Group, a small, family-run financial planning firm in Bonsall, California. Once he completed his degree in 2011, Will was brought on full-time and became the firm’s Operations/Client Service Administrator.

Will relocated to the Portland area in 2014 and worked as an Operations Associate for a small broker dealer. In late 2015, he joined Umpqua Investments as an Operations Associate, then was promoted to a Registered Client Associate in 2017 and completed his FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Will prides himself on providing an outstanding customer service experience for each and every client and is a very important resource for the Columbia Shores Group. He is the first point of contact for service, operations and Morgan Stanley online for our clients.

Will and his wife, Taylor, live in the Gresham area with their Labrador Retriever. In their free time, they enjoy visiting Oregon wine country and hiking with their dog.

About Sam Watry

Sam has been with the Firm since 2011 and in the Financial Industry since 2007. He earned the right to use the CFA Charter in 2013 and continues to be an active member in the local society. Growing up in Southeastern Wisconsin, he is a shareholder and fan of the Green Bay Packers. Having lived in the Portland area for over a decade, he can often be found at Providence Park rooting on the Timbers. Sam and his wife Katie have two young children which keep them very active. He is an avid rafter, a member of the Oregon Whitewater Association, and enjoys spending his free time rafting, camping, hiking and all things outdoors. Sam is an AFS Alumnus, after spending a year in Zurich, Switzerland, plus spent a year living in Saint Petersburg, Russia while his parents taught English.
