WHERE WE FIT IN

Managing family wealth is like running a company – you need a strategy to help manage assets and mitigate risks. We help manage the entire process by leveraging some of the top research and investment management resources in the industry.

    Planning for the Unplanned

Events such as death, disability, or retirement of a business owner don't have to mean the end of a successful business. Succession planning can provide for an orderly transition of ownership and business management during lifetime or at death. There are various options for structing and funding buy-sell agreements, key employee needs, and other executive benefits programs.

    Transaction of a Lifetime

Creating and growing a successful business is seldom just about money, nor is the decision to exit the business. Whether that exit is through IPO, merger with another company, private sale, or succession within the family, the process is intense, the details are complex, and the decisions are often an unexpected combination of personal and financial needs. Morgan Stanley has been helping business owners like you bring clarity and confidence to what is typically a once-in-a-lifetime event.

About Me

John Granzow II is a Private Wealth Advisor at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management. Following in his father’s footsteps, John joined The Armillary Group in the Fall of 2024 while at Wells Fargo, transitioning to Morgan Stanley in 2025. John spent the first decade of his career as a fixed income salesmen where his clients were some of the largest asset managers, hedge funds and financial institutions in the United States.
John’s perspective is unique as he understands managers of client portfolios view risk vs reward and how they leverage their expertise and size to increase client returns.

John is a graduate from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and spent almost eight years living in Hermosa Beach CA before moving back to Charlotte, North Carolina. After a decade working in Sales and Trading within Wells Fargo’s Investment Bank, John was ready for a new chapter in his life, both personally and professionally. Growing up watching his father be there for his clients in times of joy and sorrow as well as building trust with each and every one of them, John knew that he was ready to take on this new chapter as a trusted advisor for clients. He is passionate about his role as a financial advisor as it gives him the ability to create a plan for friends, family and colleagues that will help set them up for future success while also becoming integrated in the lives of each of his clients and being there for them through the peaks and troughs that come their way. John believes there is no “one-size fits all” approach to creating these plans makes every day a unique experience while.

John currently resides in the Charlotte Metro area with his spouse Sarah who recently celebrated three years of marriage. Outside of the office, John can be found giving some of his time back to St. Jude’s and The Relatives. After playing soccer his entire life, he is also venturing into coaching opportunities in the Charlotte area to further giving back to his community.
