A highly experienced personal relationship manager, Jim Lilley helps successful families develop, implement and maintain customized wealth plans designed to achieve all of their most important financial goals. The solutions Jim delivers touch every aspect of his clients’ financial lives, including investments, credit, estate and financial planning, insurance and philanthropy.
Prior to joining Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, Jim served as a Wealth Advisor at Wells Fargo for the previous 9 years. Prior to that role, he was the Regional Wealth Planning Manager and Senior Wealth Planning Strategist, where he led a team of 20 wealth planners who advised clients how to successfully protect, grow and ultimately transfer wealth. Earlier in his career, Jim was a Financial Analyst at the Ayco Company, L.P., a Goldman Sachs Company, where he specialized in corporate executive financial counseling.
Jim graduated from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in economics and went on to earn his Juris Doctor and MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
Jim has been active in the Charlotte area as a member of the Charlotte Estate Planning Council, Association for Corporate Growth and Charlotte Estate Planning Group. He formerly served on the executive committee of the board of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater Charlotte, the Queens University Estate Planners Day steering committee, and Foundation for the Carolinas Cabinet of Professional Advisors. In his spare time Jim enjoys watching his children play volleyball, gymnastics, basketball, football, and baseball and watching his beloved Buffalo sports teams.
