My Background

I work with individuals and families who are looking to effectively utilize their resources in order to enhance and preserve their financial and philosophical values. This is accomplished through customized investment management,  coordination with a client’s tax and estate planning professionals, and working together to develop a meaningful philanthropic strategy to reflect their lifelong legacy. This holistic process involves working with clients to evaluate their various investment portfolios in order to manage risk, enhance return, and minimize the impact of taxes.

I began my investment management career in 1986. Over the past three and a half decades, I have had the benefit of gaining perspective on the markets by having successfully weathered the dramatic market cycles which have characterized this period. The focus of my practice is to create sustainable client portfolios, and to facilitate the transfer of both Assets and Aspirations from one generation to the next.

I am passionate about the process of educating clients and their families about the economic, financial and emotional circumstances which can have an impact on the process of making appropriate and successful long term wealth management decisions.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College, and a Master's degree from Harvard University.

I currently serve on several boards including the Boston branch of the
American Jewish Committee, the Anti-Defamation League, and Birthright Israel,
as well as the Hadassah - Brandeis Institute.

I am currently a trustee of Hebrew College in Newton, MA, and the Jewish Arts Collaborative. I have recently been appointed a Trustee Emeritus of The Children's Museum of Boston.

Experience

I am an Executive Director of Morgan Stanley and have earned the title of Senior Investment Management Consultant.
I began my Investment Management carrier in 1986 and have been with Smith Barney, which became Morgan Stanley, since June 1990.

Over the course of my career, I have been asked to speak to various professional associations and university groups. I have spoken on “Social Impact Strategies” for the Investment Management Institute in New York and I was a panelist in a National Conference on the subject of “Girls, Women and Money: Financial Empowerment for the 21st Century”. In 2016, I was appointed a National Speaker for Hadassah, as part of its prestigious
“Know your Worth Program”, a full day seminar designed to highlight the major principles of financial literacy.

I am a member of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston.

Community Involvement

I am currently on the board of Hebrew College in Newton, Massachusetts, and I am also a member of the National Committee of the American Friends of the Israel Museum.

For many years, I served on the board of the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute.
I have recently been appointed to the board of the Boston branch of the American Jewish Committee. I am also actively involved with the educational initiatives of Shakespeare & Company based in Lennox, Massachusetts.

Other current board memberships include the New England region of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the New England region of Birthright Israel.

Previous board memberships have included the American Repertory Theater (Cambridge), Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Boston and the Women’s Executive Council of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. I was a Founding Board Member of the Jewish Women’s Archives.

I am also actively involved with the Miriam Fund, a philanthropic entity within the Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Boston. I have also been active with involved with the Hadassah Medical Organization. I was honored as a "Woman of Distinction" by the Boston Chapter of Hadassah in May 2006.

My other community involvements include active participation in programs created by The Museum of Fine Arts, as well as involvement with The Children’s Museum of Boston, where I have recently been appointed as a Trustee Emeritus.

My Clients

Every client has unique circumstances and concerns. As a financial professional, it is my responsibility to understand what is likely to be most appropriate set of solutions for each specific situation.

To accomplish this, I am able to access the vast resources of Morgan Stanley, and work with colleagues in various related fields in order to design appropriate strategies to accomplish client goals.

The complexities of the business and market cycles require both historical perspective and current knowledge. Without education and guidance, even the most sophisticated individuals tend to gravitate toward taking either too much or too little risk. My objective is to ensure that the various components of my clients’ financial strategies are diligently designed and consistently monitored in order to create the confidence that they are able to achieve their goals.

Sustainable and Impact investing is frequently a component of developing portfolios to enable clients to translate their values through investments and portfolio strategies which reflect their priorities.

I have had the privilege of building many long-term, multigenerational client relationships.

These relationships are a reflection of the critical elements of integrity along with a well structured and holistic approach to working together over many years.

Patience , Persistence and Perseverance, which enable a client to weather the vicissitudes of the markets, along with Historical Perspective and Market Insight… are additional components of the
“Secret Sauce” of creating enduring relationships.

I consider it a privilege to be able to work with clients to assist them in developing strategies which enable them to transfer both Assets and Aspirations from one generation to the next.

5The returns on a portfolio consisting primarily of Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) aware investments may be lower or higher than a portfolio that is more diversified or where decisions are based solely on investment considerations. Because ESG criteria exclude some investments, investors may not be able to take advantage of the same opportunities or market trends as investors that do not use such criteria. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in a declining financial market.
