Sarah has over twenty years of experience in finance, spanning international tax, equity research, investment banking, consumer banking, and wealth management. Sarah is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Ice Dance and a Double Silver Medalist in Freestyle and Figures. She is a 3-time US National Medalist in Synchronized Skating.
Much of Sarah's early drive toward finance stemmed from her childhood as a competitive figure skater in Massachusetts.
"From a young age, I became keenly aware of family finances… or the lack thereof… out of my desire to skate as much as my competitors. I had an ambitious paper route and several part-time jobs at the rink, opted out of field trips, sold candy bars and holiday wreaths -- not ever out of burden, but out of drive and determination."
After her dad passed suddenly during her junior year of high school, her family's finances shifted dramatically in ways unexpected. This opened her eyes to the importance of financial planning and wealth protection.
Between high school and college, Sarah was selected to skate with Disney On Ice in Japan, Egypt, Israel, and North America. A lifelong dream as well as a mechanism to save toward college.
Thanks to a substantial financial aid package, Sarah attended Tufts University, her father's Alma Mater. Her discipline from figure skating translated into academic success. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, double majoring in Quantitative Economics and International Relations, and received a Fulbright grant to research the Japanese pension crisis at Osaka University.
In 2004, Sarah joined Morgan Stanley in Equity Research after attaining her MBA in Finance from Wharton and MA in International Affairs from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. Sarah had continued to research Japan's retirement system and won the Reginald H. Jones Thesis Prize at graduation.
In 2015, Sarah found herself navigating challenging waters that ultimately led her on a path to becoming a financial advisor. Her personal experience inspired her to become the type of advisor she wished she had in her corner during those tumultuous years. Today, Sarah's clients receive a level of attention and caring that can only be attained through surviving some of life's most difficult and yet common pitfalls to a financial plan. Her firsthand understanding of the emotional and financial complexities involved in divorce, family court, sudden loss of a loved one, and the plight of the sandwich generation (balancing child-rearing and caring for aging parents) makes her an exceptional financial advocate for her clients and their loved ones.
Outside of the office, you will find Sarah typing away at her next book, keeping up her Japanese through self-study, or on the ice as a figure skating coach at America First Center with the Vegas Golden Knights Center of Excellence. Sarah is also a proud skating mom to her daughter, Desiree.
"I enjoy teaching all levels, but particularly our youngest skaters so that they gain a level of proficiency quickly that will fuel their passion for skating."
