Most successful artists and athletes are surrounded by talented people. Someone handling their money, legal affairs, business dealings, and day-to-day finances. The problem is rarely a lack of talent in the room. It is the lack of someone making sure the room is working together. That is the role I built my career around.
There is a level of sacrifice that goes into building something in the public eye, most of which goes unseen. The discipline, the quiet grind, the years of work that happen before anyone is watching. By the time most artists or athletes are ready to think seriously about their financial future, they have already spent a decade betting on themselves. My job is to make sure that bet pays off for the rest of their lives.
That meant learning the entertainment business from the ground up. Understanding how royalties flow and where they get lost. How touring income works and why it disappears so quickly. What a sync deal is really worth and how to make sure the right people see that money. How brand equity is built and how quickly it can be squandered without the right structure in place. I did not want to translate the financial world for my clients. I wanted to speak their language fluently enough that no translation was ever necessary.
What I found along the way was consistent. The artists and athletes who built lasting wealth were not necessarily the ones who earned the most. They were the ones who had someone in their corner who cared enough to ask the uncomfortable questions early. Who owns your masters? What is your plan when touring stops? Are the people around you working together or in parallel? And perhaps most importantly, is everyone in your circle operating transparently and genuinely in your best interest? Those conversations require trust to have and the courage to act on them. But in my experience, they are the ones that change everything.
Today I lead The Modern Perspective Group at Morgan Stanley. A core part of my work is assembling the right teams around each client, bringing in best-in-class legal, tax, and business management professionals selected specifically for that client's situation and held to a single standard above all others: that my client's interests are never an afterthought in any conversation happening on their behalf. My clients range from globally recognized names to rising talent who share one thing in common. They are serious about what comes next. Recording artists, DJs, songwriters, athletes, podcasters, and influencers, along with the agents, attorneys, and managers who support them, all working toward the same goal. That alignment is not accidental. It is something I build intentionally for every client.
The music changes. The rosters change, and the industry reinvents itself every few years. But one thing has remained constant throughout it all. Wealth without structure is just income waiting to disappear. Protecting against that outcome is the work I built this practice around.
