Welcome

When attending college, I gravitated towards watching business programs on TV and reading about finance. I subsequently obtained my MBA at Fordham University while working full time. The subject greatly interested me and after graduating with my MBA, I could not wait to enter the profession of financial advising. I have worked in the industry for over 25 years and continue to find it fascinating.

I offer you a seasoned professional who is competent to assist you in all your financial concerns. I am extremely focused on meeting the needs of my clients and endeavor to treat everyone I work with, as I would a member of my own family. By utilizing my education and experience in financial matters, I strive to help my clients achieve their personal goals and dreams. I work diligently to make my clients feel comfortable relying on me for all their financial issues.

In my spare time, I enjoy tennis and other sports, exercise, movies, travel, meeting new people and furthering my knowledge on a variety of subjects.

Creating Your Plan

To be truly effective, your plan must reflect the totality of your personal and financial life. My role is to help ensure that your investment objectives are consistent with your financial concerns and your long-term goals.

My four step process was developed to help you achieve that goal:
    Icon Image
    1. Setting Your Financial Objectives
Through a process of discovery and discussion, I will work with you to articulate your wealth goals. Together, we will examine your current and future liabilities, income sources and cash flow needs, and then consider factors that might influence your overall strategy, including tolerance for risk, tax concerns, liquidity needs and time horizon. Through careful analysis, I'll look for potential gaps that may exist between your goals, and develop sound strategies to help clear the path.
    Icon Image
    2. Creating Your Strategy
Working from my understanding of you and your objectives, we will propose a financial plan that contains specific strategies designed to help meet those goals. My advice may encompass issues such as retirement planning, business continuation, tax minimization potential and wealth transfer. You will also receive an asset allocation strategy designed to provide diversification for your portfolio.
    Icon Image
    3. Implementing Your Strategy
After discussing and refining your strategy, I'll work closely with you to bring the elements to life. Planning is a vital part of my process. Using tools to actively monitor your plans progress, making sure you are on track to meet your financial goals and objectives. If you prefer to invest in individual securities, I can help identify specific stocks, bonds and other securities that may be suitable for your portfolio. Whatever the approach may be, I'll help you keep your strategy on track.
    Icon Image
    4. Reviewing Objectives & Performance
I view ongoing communications as the foundation of my successful collaboration with you. I'll make every effort to stay aware of your changing financial needs and provide viable strategies to help you meet them. This means reviewing your portfolio together at your request when circumstances change, I will work with you to revise your strategy and reposition your assets to reflect your new needs and goals.

Meet My Team

About Eric T. Chin

My involvement in my family’s business created the strong interest in business leaving me to pursue studying the subject in college and following that passion as a career. At a young age, I was introduced to the power of investing and began to realize the impact and value of having a financial advisor for both my family and their business. Wanting to have the same impact on those around me, I joined Morgan Stanley in 2019 focusing on holistic financial planning, wealth management, and investment strategies.

I received a Bachelor’s Degree at Fordham University graduating at the top of my class studying Finance with a concentration in Alternative Investments and a minor in Economics. With this specialized education and my experience, I offer you a professional who will work to help you achieve your personal goals and assist you with all your financial concerns. My team and I do this through custom asset allocations, risk management and disciplined investing. I treat my clients like family and work diligently towards their goals so they feel comfortable relying on me for all of their financial matters allowing them to focus more on their life priorities.

In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, skiing, and giving back to my alma maters, Iona Prep and Fordham University.

6An investment in an exchange-traded fund (ETF) involves risks similar to those of investing in a broadly based portfolio of equity securities traded on exchange in the relevant securities market, such as market fluctuations caused by such factors as economic and political developments, changes in interest rates and perceived trends in stock prices. The investment return and principal value of ETF investments will fluctuate, so that an investor’s ETF shares, if or when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost.

Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) before investing. The prospectus contains this and other information about the ETF. To obtain a prospectus, contact your Financial Advisor or visit the ETF company’s website. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.

7Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
