Reuben Askowitz

Reuben Askowitz joined Smith Barney in 2008 after a long and distinguished career at IBM in sales and management.  He partnered with his father, Marty, a veteran of Wall St with over 50 years in financial services industry.  Reuben is focused on delivering a client-focused approach which he honed at IBM.

Reuben’s holistic approach to financial planning seeks to ensure that the recommended programs encompass each client’s financial goals, time frames and risk tolerance. His clients are range from emerging affluent to ultra-high net worth individuals. They are typically doctors, lawyers, senior executives, multigenerational families and foundations.  Mr. Askowitz focuses on bringing balance to financial planning.  Financial success creates increasingly difficult wealth management challenges.  Investment strategy becomes more sophisticated.  Trust and estate structures grow more complex. Reuben works closely with clients to develop customized financial strategies that incorporate asset allocation, financial management, liability management, and retirement planning.

Helping people, whether it’s planning for retirement, life post-divorce or college expenses, is truly Reuben’s passion.  In addition to developing a custom financial strategy for each client, he conducts regular meetings with clients to review performance, reconfirm financial goals and make adjustments as economic or lifestyle conditions warrant.

In 1983, Reuben earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Applications and Information System from NYU, Stern School of Business.  While at IBM, he was promoted and recognized for many awards and achievement which included numerous 100% Clubs and Golden Circles for Top Echelon performers.

Reuben enjoys spending time with his wife and family.  His passions include golf, skiing and gardening.

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Financial Advisers can conduct their business in several ways: individually, as a member of a team of Financial Advisors, or through the formation of a Strategic Partnership with another Financial Advisor or team of Financial Advisors. A Strategic Partnership is an arrangement between a Financial Advisor or a team of Financial Advisors with another Financial Advisor or team of Financial Advisors that has a unique focus or knowledge regarding a specific business concentration, product area, and/or client type. If your account is with an individual Financial Advisor, that Financial Advisor services all facets of your account. If your account is with a Financial Advisor who is a member of a team, any Financial Advisor on the team can service your account. If your Financial Advisor is part of a Strategic Partnership, his or her role in that Strategic Partnership may be limited to a specific business and/or product area and may not cover all facets of your account. The use of the terms “Partner” or “Strategic Partner” and/or “Partnership” or “Strategic Partnership” are used as terms of art and not used to imply or connote any legal relationship.
