ABOUT RANDY BROWN

Randy Brown is a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley who is passionate about helping clients make confident, informed decisions about their financial lives. He believes the work is personal and meaningful—because every client brings a unique set of goals, concerns, family dynamics, and decisions. Randy focuses on simplifying complex topics and building thoughtful plans that help clients feel more organized, supported, and prepared for what’s ahead.

Randy’s approach is grounded in planning, education, and long-term relationships. He begins by listening and working to understand a client’s full financial picture—goals, priorities, career considerations, retirement plans, and the “why” behind what matters most to them—before making recommendations. He is known for being approachable, responsive, genuine, and detail-oriented, and for explaining financial concepts in a clear, practical way so clients can feel informed and involved in the decision-making process.

An Army veteran, Randy brings discipline, preparation, accountability, and calm decision-making to his work. He is also an avid traveler who has visited all seven continents, an experience that has broadened his perspective on people, cultures, and the many ways families define success and security. These experiences shape his practical, solution-oriented mindset and reinforce his commitment to helping clients navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence.

Randy works alongside his colleague, Jim Joseph, a First Vice President and Financial Advisor with more than 30 years of experience, supported by a dedicated service team. Together, they take a team-based approach designed to deliver thoughtful planning, responsive service, and continuity over time—combining Randy’s planning-focused problem-solving style with Jim’s deep industry experience and the support of a broader client service team.

Randy began his career in financial services in 2022 and joined Morgan Stanley in 2026 and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and an MBA from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi.

Outside of the office, Randy lives in Western New York with his wife, Alyssa, and their two dogs, Apollo and Indie. He and Alyssa are committed to their community, with a particular focus on child advocacy and sexual abuse prevention. Randy is also a passionate Buffalo sports fan—especially the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills—and enjoys hockey, golf, fishing, travel, outdoor activities, and home projects. Above all, he values building lasting relationships with clients and their families and being a steady resource as their lives and priorities evolve.

GOING BEYOND YOUR PORTFOLIO WITH RANDY BROWN

Randy builds long-term relationships by understanding what matters most: family, career, community, and goals so advice fits real life. Whether you are preparing for a transition, celebrating a milestone, or navigating uncertainty, the goal is the same: clarity, confidence, and a plan you live with.

A Relationship Built On Listening
Financial advice works best when it's grounded in context: your values, responsibilities, and the people who depend on you. Randy's approach begins with listening and continues with ongoing conversations that evolve as your life changes.

  • Know Your Story – Understanding what you're working toward: family, freedom, purpose, and peace of mind.
  • Plan For Real Life – Aligning strategies with career changes, family needs, and evolving priorities.
  • Stay Connected – Proactive check-ins and thoughtful touchpoints that keep planning relevant.

Connection is a Practice, Not a Slogan

  • Life First Discovery Conversations – Randy begins with questions that go beyond finances; What you want your life to look like, what you worry about, and what you want to protect.
  • Milestone Based Planning – Planning is revisited around key moments: new roles, liquidity events, retirement timing, family changes, relocations, and caregiving responsibilities.
  • Proactive Check-ins – Regular touch points help ensure your plan stays aligned with your goals, not just the market environment.
  • Clear Communication – You'll receive straightforward explanations and a shared understanding of next steps, timelines, and responsibilities.
  • Coordination With Your Trusted Professionals – Randy can collaborate with your CPA, attorney, and other advisors to help keep planning cohesive.
  • A Long-term Mindset – The relationship is designed to support you through multiple chapters, accumulation, transition, and legacy.

What To Expect When Working Together

  • Step 1: Introductory Conversation – We discuss what prompted you to reach out, what you want to accomplish, and whether we're a good fit.
  • Step 2: Discovery & Priorities – We clarify goals, responsibilities, and the decisions ahead, then identify what matters most right now.
  • Step 3: Strategy & Planning Conversation – Randy shares planning considerations and potential paths forward, tailored to your priorities.
  • Step 4: Implementation – When you decide to move forward, we coordinate next steps and establish a cadence for reviews and updates.
  • Step 5: Ongoing Relationship – Life changes, your plan should too. We revisit your goals, update assumptions, and adjust as needed.

Planning For The Moments That Shape Your Decisions

  • Career Transitions – New roles, compensation changes, or shifting priorities
  • Business Ownership & Liquidity Events – Preparing for complexity and timing decisions
  • Growing Families – Education priorities, protection planning, and cash-flow clarity
  • Caring For Parents Or Loved Ones – Balancing support with your own long-term goals
  • Relocation - Coordinating financial logistics and planning considerations
  • Approaching Retirement – Turning savings into a sustainable plan and lifestyle
  • Legacy Conversations – Aligning wealth decisions with family values and intentions
  • Philanthropy & Community Impact – Structuring giving around what you care about

Staying Connected - Thoughtfully & Consistently

  • Quarterly Planning Check-ins – A structured conversation to revisit priorities, upcoming decision, and any changes in your life.
  • Milestone Reminders – Touchpoints around key dates and transitions so planning stays proactive.
  • Education Updates – Plain-language insights designed to help you make informed decisions.
  • Community Presence – Randy values being part of the community he serves and supporting causes that matter locally with you.

Questions Clients Often Ask

  • Do we only talk about investments? – No. Investments may be part of the conversation, but Randy's process starts with your goals, responsibilities, and the decisions you're facing.
  • How often will we connect? – It depends on your preferences and what's happening in your life. Many clients prefer a regular meeting cadence with additional touchpoints around major milestones.
  • What if my priorities change? – That's expected. The relationship is designed to adapt as your career, family needs, and goals evolve.
  • Can you work with my CPA or attorney? – With your permission, Randy can coordinate with your trusted professionals to help keep planning aligned.
  • What should I bring to our first conversation? – A general sense of what you want to accomplish and any upcoming decisions. If you have relevant documents and statements, Randy can let you know what may be helpful after the initial call.
