Welcome

I have dedicated my career to serving the financial needs of individuals, families, foundations, business owners and corporate executives. With over 30 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, my comprehensive approach includes financial and estate planning strategies, liquidity creation, customized strategic solutions, and a commitment to building strong relationships with my clients. Working with a broad spectrum of professionals, retirees, foundations, and family legacies, I have developed an understanding of the distinct needs of each client.

I have been honored to receive professional designations during my career, including Morgan Stanley’s President’s Club award, and yearly recognition on the Forbes “Best-In-State Wealth Advisors,” most recently in 2022. I am also a proud member of the Access One Alliance at Morgan Stanley. This group of advisors represents the most experienced and decorated African American Financial Advisors in the industry, with over $10 billion in combined assets under management.

Outside the world of finance, I am very involved in my hometown community of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Much of my time is spent working with groups focused on youth and education in the area. I have been honored to serve on the board for the YMCA of Greater Tulsa, the Big Brothers & Big Sisters program of Oklahoma, among many other reputable organizations.

As for life outside the office, I currently live in Tulsa with my wife Patricia, and we are proud parents of two: Paul II, and our daughter Paige. I am passionate about travel, particularly with my family, and I’m a big sports fan – especially basketball, football, and tennis. Fishing on a quiet morning is one of my favorite pastimes, and while not yet a pro, I get out to the golf course as often as I can.

**Source: Forbes.com (February, 2021). Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors ranking was developed by SHOOK Research and is based on in-person, virtual and telephone due diligence meetings to evaluate each advisor qualitatively, a major component of a ranking algorithm that includes: client retention, industry experience, review of compliance records, firm nominations; and quantitative criteria, including: assets under management and revenue generated for their firms. Investment performance is not a criterion because client objectives and risk tolerances vary, and advisors rarely have audited performance reports. Rankings are based on the opinions of SHOOK Research, LLC and are not indicative of future performance or representative of any one client’s experience. Neither Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC nor its Financial Advisors or Private Wealth Advisors pay a fee to Forbes or SHOOK Research in exchange for the ranking. My Process

My goal as an advisor is to give my clients the highest level of care and attention. Fostering a strong and lasting relationship with my clients involves more than just portfolio management. This process requires trust, and every decision I make works towards building that trust with my clients. By getting to know my clients and their financial objectives on an individual level, I can build strategies that help meet their specific needs. Below I lay out what this process will look like for you, my client.

    1: Getting To Know You
I start by sitting down with you to build a deeper understanding of your current financial picture, as well as the goals you have for your future. While some goals may be financial, others might be more abstract: leaving a legacy for your children; enjoying an adventure-filled retirement; or giving back to your community. I am here to help you map out these goals and establish a game-plan for achieving them.

    Preparing to Care
According to AARP, in one year, over 53 million people become caregivers for spouses, partners, children, and parents for the first time. Taking on this responsibility can easily overwhelm - many new caregivers do not have a plan in place. Taking care of yourself as the caregiver assumes a new level of importance. Review this article for some helpful suggestions.

YOU COME FIRST

My success as a Financial Advisor is intimately linked with the success of my clients. When I can add value to your life in some way, I’m on the right track. Building relationships takes time and trust, especially when it comes to matters around your hard-earned wealth. That is why I strive to show appreciation to my clients every chance I get. Your trust means the world to me, and that is why I host yearly client appreciation events to thank you all. During these events we welcome keynote speakers, food, drinks, and other festivities throughout the evening. I have received terrific feedback from current clients regarding these occasions, and I hope to see all my clients at the next event. It’s a great way to thank you all while getting to know others in the area.

In addition to client appreciation events, I am often asked to engage as a guest speaker at local and national conferences. These engagements are a great opportunity for me to share my thoughts on the market and investment landscape. I will periodically add links to these conferences below, so check back here often.

1Investors should consider many factors before deciding which 529 plan is appropriate. Some of these factors include: the Plan’s investment options and the historical investment performance of these options, the Plan’s flexibility and features, the reputation and expertise of the Plan’s investment manager, Plan contribution limits and the federal and state tax benefits associated with an investment in the Plan. Some states, for example, offer favorable tax treatment and other benefits to their residents only if they invest in the state’s own Qualified Tuition Program. Investors should determine their home state’s tax treatment of 529 plans when considering whether to choose an in-state or out-of-state plan. Investors should consult with their tax or legal advisor before investing in any 529 Plan or contact their state tax division for more information. Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC does not provide tax and/or legal advice. Investors should review a Program Disclosure Statement, which contains more information on investment options, risk factors, fees and expenses and possible tax consequences.
