Leveraging my experience to help You

I am a firm believer that experiences are what drive people to become who they are, the values they hold, and often the financial decisions they make. Raised in central New York, my upbringing was heavily influenced by grandparents who owned a farm and taught me the value of hard work, doing business with integrity, loyalty, and putting others needs ahead of mine. Unfortunately, I also learned how tragedy can lead to financial hardship as my grandparents’ home and farm burned down and their land was eventually sold. Wanting to apply lessons learned from my family history is what aspired me to pursue a career in the capital markets with a focus on family and financial planning.

Using this aspiration throughout college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, I focused my studies on finance and portfolio management. Upon graduation, I joined Morgan Stanley as one their Financial Advisor’s in Chicago and over the past 25 years I have continued to expand my financial skillset by becoming one of a select group of Financial Advisors to earn both the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst ® (CIMA®) designations. Maintaining these designations demonstrate my ability to offer you customized wealth planning, institutional level investment advice, and adherence to a strict set of ethical requirements beyond industry standard. Additionally, Morgan Stanley has awarded me with numerous titles that reflect the commitment I’ve made to my clients as well as my contributions to the success of the firm.

What you can expect as a client is a long term relationship built on trust and confidence that I will use my experience, knowledge, work ethic and deep discovery process to craft a personalized wealth plan designed to address your unique circumstances to grow, protect, and preserve your financial assets.

A Goals-Based Holistic Approach to Wealth Management

My results-driven process begins by taking a 360-degree view of your wealth by asking questions about the values that shape your decisions and the vision you have for your future. Once we identify your most important goals, determine if you have a gap or surplus to achieve your financial targets, and prioritize your needs, I then develop integrated solutions to help empower you to achieve and maintain financial success. So while we may spend a good deal of time early on discussing investment and planning concepts, I will frequently share my capital markets perspectives and experience so you will fully understand the reasons for the recommendations I offer.
    Icon Image
    Personal Review
Before I can advise you, I must first understand you and your goals. I guide you through a detailed conversation to identify your objectives, time horizon, tolerance for risk and other considerations that may play an important role in shaping your investment strategy.
    Icon Image
    Asset Allocation and Portfolio Planning
Your input drives the development of a personalized financial strategy. Designed to help meet your specific goals, it addresses such areas as retirement, estate planning and tax minimization strategies. When my analysis is complete, I will present an investment strategy that helps identify appropriate diversification for your portfolio.
    Icon Image
    Ongoing Communications and Reporting
Transparency is key to a successful long-term relationship. I make every effort to keep abreast of your changing financial needs and provide viable strategies to help you meet your goals. This means reviewing your portfolio together on a regular basis. When your circumstances change, I will work to revise your strategy and reposition your assets to reflect your new needs and goals.
    Icon Image
    Implementation
Once we’ve discussed and refined your strategy, I work closely with you to bring each element of your strategy to life. Should we decide that outside money managers are appropriate, I will draw on in-depth research and analysis to help select among the hundreds of investment management firms available. If you prefer to invest in individual securities, I can help identify specific stocks, bonds and other securities that may be suitable for your portfolio. Whatever approach we implement, I am committed to keeping your strategy on track.

Being affluent is not a niche and neither are my clients

Regardless of how one has obtained their wealth, I have committed myself to understanding the unique complexities and challenges that affluent individuals and families will face- whether it was earned, inherited, or otherwise.

Typical clients I serve include:
Corporate Executives
Whether your company is public or private, large or small, I can help you generate returns unrelated to the industry where your wealth is concentrated. If you have significant stock options, RSUs, ISOs, NQDC awards, equity grants or control stock, we can execute diversification strategies tailored to your specific risk management, investment, and liquidity objectives.
High Income Professionals
One commonality among attorneys, consultants, sales reps and physicians is that their demanding careers leave little time for overseeing and managing their personal assets. In many circumstances, communicating during normal working hours can be a challenge. My skills and experience enable me to exercise discretion, making timely investment decisions to help grow and protect your hard-earned wealth.
Financially Independent Women
Women control more than half of household assets and, due to caregiving responsibilities, fewer working years and longer life expectancies, may face financial issues that men do not. Whether wealth was accumulated through a successful career, divorce, or widowhood, I am committed to understanding the unique needs women will need to plan for and take great pride in making this an emphasis of my practice.
Affluent Retiree's
Retirement issues are a major source of concern today. Longer life expectancies mean your retirement may last nearly as long as your career, and rising health care costs may make your retirement increasingly expensive. Leveraging a suite of sophisticated planning tools that include Monte Carlo simulation analysis and Morgan Stanley’s proprietary tax-savvy intelligent withdrawals platform, I can design a retirement plan that will anticipate and help prepare you for the unexpected challenges that retirees may face now and in the future.
Business Owners
Owning your own business is empowering, challenging, and potentially quite lucrative. As your business grows from one person to many, monetizing a privately held company requires seamless coordination of your personal wealth management and business monetization strategies. I will work with your legal, tax, and other advisors to help you increase value, reduce tax liabilities, and integrate the proceeds of your sale into a comprehensive wealth plan.

My Commitment to Excellence

Being a Financial Advisor for over the past 25 years, I have developed close relationships with a vast array of affluent individuals, families, and institutions across more than 20 states. Drawing from this experience, I have developed a consistent and continuous investment process designed to optimize your portfolio into a tax-smart and risk-controlled allocation while providing timely, unbiased objective advice.

As a Portfolio Management Director, I have the experience and skillset to manage your investments on a discretionary basis while as a Family Wealth Advisor, I can help address your estate planning, philanthropy, business succession needs, and multi-generational planning goals. In addition, being an Alternative Investments Director demonstrates my deep knowledge of a sophisticated set of investment products that affluent investors use for access to institutional strategies designed to offer diversification away from traditional fixed income and equity markets.

The accolades below are not only a reflection of the commitment I have made in my pursuit of excellence, but also to the long-term success I have had guiding clients through three bear markets, the Great Financial Crisis, and most recently the market turmoil caused by the COVID pandemic.
