About Caren Poletti Williams

As a Portfolio Management Director, Caren Williams, CPM®, CDFA®, creates plans and portfolios for clients that consider the entirety of their financial needs. As a Financial Planning Specialist, she works with clients and their legal and tax advisors to develop, implement and monitor individualized wealth plans via holistic planning and problem solving. In recognition of her professionalism and dedication to our clients, Caren was named among Forbes Magazine’s 2019 Best in State Advisors and Working Mother Magazine’s 2019 Top Wealth Advisor Moms.

Caren has nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. As a Financial Planning Specialist and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), she understands and plans for the myriad of financial risks that might otherwise prevent her clients from reaching their goals. With the advanced knowledge of a Certified Portfolio Manager (CPM®, )she applies a deep understanding of fundamental security analysis, asset allocation and portfolio management concepts to her clients’ investment portfolios. About Stuart W Smith

With more than 35 years of experience at Morgan Stanley and predecessor firms, Stuart has the knowledge, resources, and tools needed to help guide investors through the necessary financial decisions made throughout their lives. Stuart has completed the Family Wealth Director program. The Family Wealth Director designation is utilized by a select 4% of Morgan Stanley advisors as of January 2022. Kyle Killett joined the Nashville Legacy Group with a diverse business background, having previously owned and operated his own small business as well as holding business development and relationship management positions in manufacturing, software, and healthcare industries. With these prior experiences, Kyle understands the priorities and issues inherent in small business ownership and works with our clients to address such needs.

Kyle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Memphis, a MBA from the Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business at Belmont University, and recently earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPC® designation. The CRPC® is a graduate-level designation program for experienced financial advisors who wish to offer more comprehensive advice to individual clients for both their pre- and post-retirement needs.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, Ellie, works to advise clients on issues involving financial planning, cash flow management as well as retirement, education, and legacy planning strategies.

Originally from Naperville, IL, Ellie graduated from Belmont University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance where she competed on the Division I Volleyball team. She continues her support of the Belmont Bruins by color-commentating on ESPN+ for the volleyball games. On top of that, she continues to support Student Athletes through the AMP (Athlete Mentor) Program, helping athletes navigate the transition from college to career.

Ellie currently serves as Ex-Officio on the board of the Nashville Jr. Chamber. She previously served as the 2023-2024 President. Additionally, she is on the Board of STARS Nashville, a non-profit committed to helping the next generation unlock their full potential, primarily regarding mental health and substance abuse, through partnerships with school systems. In 2023, Ellie was named a Top 30 Under 30 Honoree in Nashville by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. About Mary Ann Whitaker

Mary Ann has more than three decades of experience working in the finance industry. She loves providing excellent service to our clients by helping them with the myriad of transactional needs that arise on a daily basis, including account documentation, money movement, IRA distributions and other service-related issues.

Mary Ann has lived in the Old Hickory area for over 30 years. Married to her high school sweetheart, they have one daughter who is a registered nurse at Vanderbilt.

After working for Morgan Stanley for two and a half years in Memphis, Mary Ruth joined the Nashville Legacy Group as a Client Service Associate. She provides strategic operational and administrative support to the clients and enjoys delivering first-class customer service with each interaction. Within the group, she is also responsible for assisting clients with Morgan Stanley Online and organizing client events.

Mary Ruth holds a Bachelor in Business Marketing from Austin Peay State University where she played varsity soccer for 4 years. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and rooting on Austin Peay Athletics.

About Russell Barnard CFA® , CFP®

Russ performs security analysis, trading, macroeconomic research, and risk evaluation. The team’s proprietary investment strategies include large and mid-cap stocks, ETFs, a few Mutual Funds, and investment grade corporate and municipal bonds. He also performs investment analysis and due diligence for Private Equity, Private Credit, Private Real Estate, and Hedge Funds available to Morgan Stanley clients. Russ is a member of the team’s investment committee; He is an adjunct professor at Belmont teaching investments and portfolio management; And he serves on the board of the CFA Society of Nashville.

In 2016, Russ started his career as an intern at Morgan Stanley in the Northeast. He is from Portland, Maine. Russ graduated 12 months early from Boston College with undergraduate degrees in Math and Economics and a Masters degree of Finance; He completed an executive corporate valuation program at London School of Economics.

In free time, Russ and his wife Ashley travel to visit friends and family across the US. When in town, they like to review restaurants, play golf, tennis, pickleball, and stay in shape. Russ loves BBQ and the carnivore diet. Ashley loves healthy balanced meals! She is a nurse at Vanderbilt.

Kat interned with Nashville Legacy Group in the summer of 2022. She joined the team to work part-time in 2023 as a Client Service Associate. She provides administrative support to clients as well as keeping quality customer service top of mind.

Outside of work, Kat enjoys playing pickleball with her friends and spending time with her family and dog, Gus.
