Path to you Goals

When planning a journey, it’s best to map out a plan to arrive at your destination as efficiently as possible. The same is true when planning for your future.

By understanding where you and your family are today – your “Point A” – and where you want to go – your “Point B” – we map out a strategy to get there as planned. If we anticipate a detour, we proactively re-route our guidance, so you can achieve your goals safely and effectively.

Here is a brief overview of the process we follow to guide you on the road to financial success.

1 - Introductory Discussion
We begin with an informal conversation to understand your financial concerns and determine how we can add value. Should we agree to move forward, we’ll schedule a meeting and request important financial information.

2 - Getting To Know You
We continue the dialogue by fostering an in-depth discussion to learn what is most important to you and your family. We explore the values that shape your decisions and identify any unique circumstances. We also review the documents you’ve prepared and define your priorities.

3 - Building Your Custom Roadmap
Here, we review your finances, determine the likelihood of reaching your goals and address the impact of unexpected life events. Based on our comprehensive analysis, we’ll develop and present a detailed action plan with recommendations tailored to achieve your goals.

4 - Implementation
Once we activate your plan, we’ll set up a number of meetings to ensure your account is set up properly and you have convenient access to your account. We’ll also interact with your accountant and estate attorney to ensure a coordinated effort.

5 - Ongoing Service
We apply a strict due diligence process and set up regular calls or meetings to discuss progress towards your goals. We may recommend adjustments over time, due to changes in your life or market conditions, to help keep you on track towards achieving your goals.

        About Me

"I strongly believe that each person’s financial objectives are a subset of the values, interests, and passions that make us unique."

Steve enjoys working in close partnership with clients to solve the various pieces of their personal financial puzzle. He believes a financial plan should be as much about the individual as it is about the markets, and that intelligent planning and asset management is a very personal process.

Steve began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1981, guiding clients through numerous economic and market cycles. It is here where he met his future business partner, Dan O’Neill. Together, they established the Goldstein-O’Neill Group in 2002 and seven years later, moved to Morgan Stanley to gain access to the firm’s growing pool of resources and intellectual capital. In 2018, Steve and Dan joined forces with the Mamis/Gnall Group to form the Mount Kemble Wealth Management Group, a seasoned advisory team serving the needs of families and business owners in the New York Metro area and across the country.

Steve draws upon his deep experience to provide clients with tailored advice and customized portfolios. A graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Steve earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation from the College for Financial Planning. This credential provides Steve with advanced skills and experience to help clients navigate a wide array of pre- and post- retirement issues.

Steve’s commitment to his clients is equaled only by his dedication to his family and community. He has been a longstanding supporter of youth sports. He currently serves as a board member of the Madison Area YMCA, where he also served as president of the girls’ gymnastics organization. Steve has enjoyed coaching softball and soccer in Berkeley Heights, where he and his wife, Wendi, have lived for over 20 years with their three daughters.

        About Me

“I love helping people realize their goals and knowing I’ve had an impact on their achievement.”

Whether Susan is  helping a successful couple develop a comprehensive financial plan or advising a business owner on a life-changing liquidity event, she is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their particular goals. Her passion is to empower them to be confident in their decisions, so they have the financial freedom to pursue their own hopes and dreams.

Growing up in Bergen County, Susan earned a degree in economics from the College of the Holy Cross. After receiving her MBA in finance from New York University, Susan joined General Foods as a corporate and strategic financial planner before moving to International Paper Company. In 1988, she took over a family business, restructuring its financing and completing a successful exit for herself and her father five years later.

These early experiences provided Susan with key insights into the dynamics of multigenerational family businesses. She joined Merrill Lynch in 1994 to share her strategic wealth management skills with clients and be an advocate for the families she proudly serves. She and Susan Fry Mamis created their business partnership in 2003, establishing the Mamis/Gnall Group. They moved their practice to Morgan Stanley in 2009, and recently joined forces with the Goldstein-O’Neill Group to form the Mount Kemble Wealth Management Group.

A strong believer in giving back, Susan is a board member of The Seeing Eye in Morristown and continues her relationship with Holy Cross as a member of the President’s Council. She also serves on Morgan Stanley’s Western New Jersey Complex Diversity Council. Married for 40 years, Susan and her husband, Greg, have two adult sons and a yellow lab. Whenever possible, they love to spend time with family and friends at their home in Maine.
