    What Happens When I First Contact You?

    We start with a conversation, not a presentation. We want to understand what prompted you to reach out, what's important to you and where you could use some help. We'll tell you about our team and how we work, answer your questions and see whether it makes sense to keep talking.

    Do I Need To Have Everything Organized Before We Meet?

    No. "I don't even know where to start" is a perfectly reasonable place to start. Part of our job is helping you sort through what you have, what matters now and what can wait. Bring your questions. We can help with the organization.

    What Should I Expect From Our First Meeting?

    Expect us to ask a lot of questions—and to listen. We'll want to understand more than your investments. We'll talk about what you're trying to accomplish, what concerns you, who else is affected by your financial decisions and what may be changing in your life. You should also leave knowing more about us and whether our approach feels right for you.

    Is There a Minimum Amount Required to Work With You?

    There isn't one number that determines whether someone is a good fit for our team. The size and complexity of the relationship, the services you need and the ways we may be able to help all matter. Sometimes it makes sense to begin talking well before a major financial event actually occurs.

    How Much Does it Cost to Work with The Montage Group?

    Most of our clients work with us through an advisory relationship and pay a fee based on a percentage of the assets we manage for them. The cost varies depending on the size and nature of the relationship and the services involved. Before you become a client, we'll explain what you would pay and how we are compensated.

    Who On the Montage Team Will I Actually Work With?

    You'll have relationships with people, not just a firm name. We're an eight-person, multigenerational team with different areas of experience. Depending on what you're working through, different members of the team may become involved. We want you to know the people helping you – and know whom to call when something comes up.

    How Often Will I Hear From You?

    There isn't one schedule that makes sense for every client. We establish a communication rhythm based on your situation and preferences. And we don't believe every conversation needs to wait for a scheduled review. When something changes or you have a question, we want to hear about it.

    What Happens Between Our Meetings?

    Quite a lot. We're implementing the strategies we've agreed upon, monitoring your financial picture, following up on open items and looking for changes that may affect you. The relationship shouldn't disappear between scheduled meetings.

    Will You Work With my CPA, Attorney and Other Advisors?

    Yes. Financial decisions rarely fit neatly into separate boxes. With your permission, we can work with your tax and legal professionals and other advisors so that everyone has a better understanding of the larger picture. Each professional stays within his or her area of expertise, but the decisions can be considered together.

    What Happens When Something Changes Unexpectedly in my Life?

    That's often when having an advisory relationship matters most. A career changes. A spouse dies. A marriage ends. A family member needs help. Something happens that wasn't part of the plan. We help you determine what requires attention now, what can wait and what the change may mean for the rest of your financial life.

    What if I’m Not Even Sure What Question I Should be Asking?

    That's okay. You don't have to arrive with the right question. Sometimes the question you bring us is only the beginning. About Greg Royse

Greg founded the Montage Group around a simple observation: As people become more successful, more parts of their financial lives begin to affect one another.

An investment decision may affect taxes. Equity compensation may affect diversification and retirement. A business decision may affect a family’s estate plan. And sometimes the most important financial issue is one a client hasn’t thought to ask about yet.

Growing up in Silicon Valley afforded him the opportunity to be surrounded by world-changing start-ups, affluent individuals, and venture capitalists. He learned firsthand about the multi-dimensional aspects of accumulating, preserving, and distributing wealth, which he now shares with his clients.

One of Greg’s many areas of focus is Equity Compensation. He enjoys educating both novices and veterans on how to maximize the value of what is often a large portion of their net worth. This includes the many ways to diversify out of different holdings and the value of having a well thought out plan. Providing resources and investment strategies to address the often-confusing tax implications are woven into clients’ financial plans.

Greg’s first job was pulling weeds in 3rd grade at the local shopping center. From there, he refereed various sports activities, worked at a local campground, and mastered all facets of the food service industry. These experiences cultivated a strong work ethic which enabled him to save his first few nickels and begin his investment journey. After graduating from UCLA with dual degrees in economics and business, Greg went straight into the financial advising business. He has been helping families achieve their goals ever since.

At Morgan Stanley, he holds the titles of Executive Director and has earned Morgan Stanley designations of Workplace Advisor, Family Wealth Advisor, Lending Specialist, and Senior Portfolio Management Director – all of which required extensive advanced training. And quite often the firm calls on him for training many top advisors on various advanced strategies.

Greg and his wife Tricia split their time between The Bay Area and San Diego. They have two adult daughters, both of whom are seeking advanced degrees. Greg enjoys spending time outdoors – especially on the golf course and soccer field. He is an enthusiast for many sports and plans to get back into youth coaching someday, but for now gives back through The Positive Coaching Alliance in addition to various other charitable organizations.

About Danielle Aldama

Danielle has always been a planner.

She grew up in Silicon Valley, fortunate to attend Archbishop Mitty High School, which gave her a better understanding of lifestyle disparity. Be it financially or emotionally, many of her classmates struggled while others did not. She fit somewhere in between, developing a certain empathy for both. She realized, she says, that even those who seemed to have it all, often did not. “Empathy” would later become a fundamental part of her Financial Planning practice.

Danielle also planned carefully for her athletic routines and getting into college. Until early adulthood, she competed across the country in world class artistic roller-skating competitions. At Santa Clara University, she graduated Magna Cum Laude, studying business and economics. She paid for college almost exclusively via grants, scholarships, and student loans, and is now a member of the University’s Alumni Association.

Her first job was as a financial advisor at a Trust and Investment firm, reading more estate planning documents than one could ever imagine. In 2006, she connected with Greg Royse, and a partnership was born.

Danielle’s knowledge about financial planning is deep and wide. She holds many industry certifications, which reflect her drive to constantly learn and better the lives of clients and their families.

Among Danielle’s many professional accomplishments, she is particularly proud to have earned Morgan Stanley’s prestigious Family Wealth Director designation. This highly selective distinction recognizes her specialized training and experience in addressing the complex financial needs of ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. About Mike Krigel

Mike’s favorite question has long been “Please tell me your story, how you became you.”

He asked it for years as a journalist, and he still asks it as a financial advisor. Because before Mike can help someone make sense of a complicated financial life, he wants to understand what that life is about.

Mike came to Morgan Stanley after a career in Silicon Valley in journalism and media management. That experience taught him to ask questions, listen carefully and distill complex subjects into ideas people can understand and act on. They’re skills he finds just as useful in wealth management.

Mike holds Morgan Stanley’s Family Wealth Advisor designation and works with clients who want to protect and grow their wealth across generations while keeping their family’s goals and values at the center of the conversation. He recognizes that financial decisions rarely stand alone. An investment decision may affect taxes. Estate planning may raise difficult family questions. A liquidity event may change what’s possible for the next generation. And sometimes the most important issue is one a client hasn’t thought to ask about yet.

Part of Mike’s work includes facilitating family conversations about the complexities of transferring wealth. Nothing is assumed. He creates a safe space for differing perspectives and helps families consider investment and estate planning strategies designed to support meaningful and engaged lives across generations.

Even serious conversations are approached with respect – and gentle humor. Mike isn’t above a bad dad joke or an awful pun. He recognizes that conversations about life’s “what-ifs” can create anxiety and believes a little humor can put people at ease and help build trust.

Mike was recruited by Morgan Stanley in 2009. He was born and raised in Kansas City, where he spent many summers working at his grandfather’s powdered egg facility. He went west for college—undergrad, with wild hair, at UC Berkeley, followed by an MBA, with considerably shorter hair, from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

An avid cyclist, swimmer and yoga enthusiast (the latter allows for the former two), Mike has served on several nonprofit boards. His wife, Patty, is a psychologist. They live in Palo Alto, where they raised their four sons and many dogs.

About David Finston

David believes that building wealth and keeping it are two very different challenges.

For many of the people David works with, wealth didn’t arrive according to a carefully constructed financial plan. It accumulated over time through their careers, often in the form of company stock, until one day they looked at their balance sheet and realized two things: they had become quite successful, and an outsized portion of everything they had built was tied to a single company.

That creates a dilemma David knows well. Holding a concentrated stock position can expose someone to more risk than they are comfortable taking. Selling it may reduce that risk but can also create significant tax consequences.

David specializes in helping individuals with concentrated stock positions navigate that tradeoff.

He joined the Montage Group as a Financial Advisor in early 2025. He previously worked at Morgan Stanley’s subsidiary, E*TRADE, as an Executive Relationship Manager, guiding clients through investment strategies and tax-efficient approaches to equity compensation.

A Marin County native, David spent many childhood summers at the City of Berkeley Family Camp – Camp Tuolumne – near Yosemite National Park. He was the fourth generation of his family to enjoy this culturally and economically diverse summer retreat, which helped shape his values and perspective.

David studied Environmental Science at Humboldt State University in Arcata, then served two years with AmeriCorps, tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth. About Jezza Pimentel

Jezza is a Vice President and Business Development Director who leads the team’s business development initiatives, manages team operations, and helps connect the client service and business development functions. As a Financial Planning Specialist, she works with executives and high-net-worth clients on the complexities of their financial lives.

Jezza has particular experience working with executives on equity compensation and concentrated company stock, including 10b5-1 plans. She works closely with clients to coordinate equity compensation strategies with their broader financial plans, helping them consider how their company stock, liquidity needs, and longer-term financial objectives fit together.

About Justin Yip

Justin is analytical by nature. He likes data, asks a lot of questions and looks closely at the assumptions behind an investment decision.

As Director of Investments for the Montage Group, Justin focuses on the investment side of clients’ financial lives. He works with clients and the team’s advisors to build and monitor portfolios that reflect each client’s objectives, time horizon, liquidity needs, and tolerance for risk.

Justin has worked in the investment industry since 2009 and joined the team in 2015. He reviews portfolios and investment strategies, evaluates asset allocation and manager selection, and considers when rebalancing or other adjustments may be appropriate. He also draws on Morgan Stanley’s research, technology and investment resources in that work.

But investments rarely exist in isolation. A portfolio may need to support retirement, accommodate concentrated stock, provide liquidity for a future need or fit alongside tax and estate planning considerations. Justin works closely with the team to consider investment decisions in the context of each client’s broader financial plan.

Justin grew up in Los Angeles and moved to the Bay Area to attend Santa Clara University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance.

Outside the office, his interests are considerably less concentrated. He enjoys hiking, cycling, rock climbing, basketball, tennis and golf, as well as beaches and parks, museums, live theater, and movies. He’s also an enthusiast restaurant-goer, and a devoted sports fan.

Vanessa likes making things easier for people.

As a Client Service Associate with the Montage Group, she handles many of the details that keep clients’ financial lives moving forward. She helps with onboarding, coordinates account and operational requests, and works through the questions and issues that arise along the way.

Vanessa has a particular knack for knowing the history behind a client request. Before reaching out, she’ll often review previous conversations and correspondence, so she understands what has already happened and what needs to happen next. Combined with the relationships she has built with clients, that helps her anticipate needs rather than simply respond to them.

Since joining the Montage Group at Morgan Stanley in 2021, Vanessa’s role has continued to grow. She has taken on more complex assignments and become a resource for newer team members, sharing what she has learned about client service, problem-solving and the team’s processes.

Outside of work, Vanessa and her partner Kyle spend a lot of time with their two French bulldogs, Paxton and Beau. They love traveling, learning about history, culture and architecture, and getting outdoors to places such as Sequoia and Yosemite.

Tanvi joined The Montage Group as a Registered Client Service Associate after relocating to the Bay Area to be closer to family. Prior to joining the firm, she worked as a Junior Financial Planner at a Michigan-based advisory practice. She was drawn to the Montage Group’s collaborative culture and diverse client base, which aligns closely with her commitment to helping clients navigate important financial decisions with care and clarity.

Having lived across three continents, Tanvi brings a global perspective to her work. She grew up in Bangalore, India, completed much of her high school education in Washington State, and later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Business from the University of Sydney in Australia.
