My Story and Services
A native of Northern California, Joe’s professional investment career began at Salomon Smith Barney in 1999. He served for over a decade as a Financial Advisor and Branch Manager for the firm. Since then, he gained further experience at two prominent private banks before returning to Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in 2022.
As a Senior Vice President at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, Joe provides comprehensive wealth management for a range of clients. In his consultations, he helps to define and address the challenges that high-net worth investors face, developing specific strategies to minimize taxes, invest and protect assets, and transfer wealth, all according to established goals and objectives.
Joe is a graduate of Stanford University and earned an MFA at Brown University. Joe holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® certification, administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. CPWA® designees must report 40 hours of continuing education credits, including two ethics and one tax/regulations hours, every two years to maintain the certification.
Joe and his family make their home in Northbrook, Illinois. He enjoys spending time with his wife and six children, listening to classical music and challenging his friends in the realm of Fantasy Premier League.

Ashley Duresa is the Financial Planning Director for the Chicago North Complex at Morgan Stanley.
Ashley began her career in financial services in 2017 and has been with Morgan Stanley since 2018. She started as a Client Service Associate and assisted with daily client requests, provided excellent client service, and developed financial plans. As she progressed with developing the financial plans, she became a Certified Financial Planner professional and started a new role as the Financial Planning Director.
As the Financial Planning Director, Ashley assists financial advisors and teams in planning engagement within their book of business as well as connecting firm resources to discover opportunities ultimately to better serve clients. Mamta Shah is the Trust Specialist based in Chicago, covering the Midwest Region. Morgan Stanley provides a full array of personal and institutional trust services to high net worth clients of the firm. Mamta’s responsibilities include educating Financial Advisors and their clients on the open architecture trust service model and helping them identify opportunities to leverage the trust partners on the platform.
Before joining Trust Services in 2010, she was the Wealth Analyst with the Chicago based Wealth Planning Center at Morgan Stanley. Mamta was responsible for providing information and education on a full range of income and estate tax topics and concerns.

About William Davern
Will Davern is a Planning Associate at Morgan Stanley providing dedicated financial planning support to Financial Advisors and their teams. Operating as an extension of the FA/Team, he collaborates with clients to discover and define the goals that matter most to them. Leveraging state of the art technology, he will evaluate various options and their potential outcomes to help clients confidently choose the appropriate course of action. Will provides expertise across a wide suite of Morgan Stanley planning tools designed to assist in the areas of investment accumulation, retirement, education, major purchase, cash flow, risk management, tax efficiency, and wealth transfer planning.

About Lynn King
Lynn R. King is a Family Office Resource Generalist for the Mid-America region. She has over 15 years of experience working with families, family offices, and their attorneys, CPAs and financial advisors on issues unique to the UHNW client. Lynn started her career as an attorney in Illinois working with closely held businesses across the country on a broad range of topics, including entity structuring, estate planning, business succession and tax. She then joined New York Life Insurance as a Corporate Vice President in their Advanced Planning Group. In this role she expanded on her experience from private practice and engaged with clients on complex business and personal planning needs.
Lynn joined Morgan Stanley in September of 2020. As the Family Office Resource Generalist, Lynn provides advice and strategies to UHNW families. To that end, she assists families with the creation of family mission statements. She also educates adults and children on how to be good stewards of generational wealth.
